HU: New Il-38 @ avsim.su

Downloading as I type. :) This will go well with the US P-3's I already have. Also a good intercept target for Tomcats.

how the he?? do I download this from Avsim RU?

Everytime I click download it takes me back to the same page. Any ideas?

I'm having the same problem as Zsoltquack, if I select the aircraft, FS9 crashes to desktop, any suggestion on how to fix the problem?

Not installed this one yet, but only thing I can think of is to check you have fssound.dll in your flightsim 'modules' folder?

And the gaugesound.dll in the Fs9 main folder?

The model and VC look great, but on a first 'flight' last night I managed to get the engines started but couldn't control the aircraft because all control surfaces were fluttering and I crashed not long after take-off. Might have to try again tonight, using the screenshots in the Russian manual to help me a bit..

Thanks for the HU. A magnificent creation and beautiful VC! Those Russian freeware designers certainly pack a lot of functionality into their aircraft.

Unfortunately the lack of tooltips and the absence of an English manual make it almost unusable for those of us who aren't able to decipher Cyrllic script. Also, I know some people love it, but I personally can't stand the 'joystick utility' that's built into a lot of these high-end Russian freeware planes (PT Tu-154, Il-62, etc). The interface is clumsy, and I can never seem to get them configured to my satisfaction. Just a personal preference...and in no way a slight on the designers.

I believe this is due to the joystick utility (??). It needs to be configued & saved in order to get accurate functioning from the flight surfaces and throttles.

Thats why I cheated, I removed the troublesome panel and replaced it with vlads An12 panel, just so i can get it started and flying without the head ache incured in using the origional.
ctl+e works and no control surface probs.

Beautiful plane but when the engines finally started I couldn't get the gear up. Now I can't start it at all and since I don't read Russian the manual is no help. Also I'm getting an error message saying that the copilot gauge (whatever function that serves) doesn't work in FS9. Guess it's uninstall time. :frown:

The engines seem to to start fine with the "ctrl+shift+4" command.
I think that we should look into the Russian keyboard layout, as the commands we are used to may be different, and there may be an easy solution to this problem!
G for "Gear" might not be the same (just like L for "lights")!
This plane is already confifigured for SW lighting, and the smoke fx are "Nicks 747"!
Non of it works!
Such a shame, as it is a great plane!
