SOH-CM-2026
Yesterday I started getting an Error message whenever I tried to start 2024. Going to the message link told me it was because of my anti-virus messing up X-Box. Well...I don't use any antivirus on the flight sim computer, nor do I own a X-Box. Anyway, I tried several things between then and now, of which I can't remember. I do remember uninstalling and reinstalling 2024, however. Now everything is FUBAR

Before doing so, I copied and saved the community folder. After reinstalling, everything is being saved on a new community folder located on the C drive. I don't want the community folder on the c drive. I have a 4TB Me SSD named S drive, as in Simulators, for the community folder. When I tried to copy the community folder, which was empty BTW, from the c drive to the s drive I got the dreaded message "You organization doesn't allow..." My organization is ME and I DO allow the community folder to be on the S drive. I swear, I wish I had Elon Musk's money. I would buy Microsoft and fire everybody in the MSFS department.

Before I pull what little hair I have left out and work myself into a catatonic fit, does anyone know how I can get 2024 back where it belongs, that is on the S drive without FUBARing the FUBAR into a worst FUBAR?

Since you have reinstalled your sim, chances are your settings are lost and should be set again.
One of these settings is choosing the location of the community folder. Sorry I don't remember exactly where the setting is located, but it's somewhere there in one of the settings categories (in the sim menus, I mean, not by editing some file or anything like that)
Once you set the folder of your choice out of the C: drive, you shouldn't have any problems to move addons into it anymore.

Hey John, i think what Daube means is to go to your Marketplace, click My Library, click the gear icon next to the search bar, et voilá, a Settings window pops up showing the current location of your MSFS2024 Community folder. Next to it is a beautiful "Modify" button with which you can set the location of your Community folder to anywhere you like. Works great, no FUBAR nore SNAFU nore WAHAYO whatsoever evermore. MSFS24 is like an Enigma machine duck up from a Uboat rusting away somewhere at the bottom of the North-Atlantic Ocean near Iceland. It is still a mystery if it actually was a good thing that has been accomplished or if it was better to have been thrown back into the sea, never to be spoken about again. Deciphering the codes is still in progress while we wait..

:) I love your poetic prose. In my view 2024 was made to benefit Microsoft and not the consumer.I guess they figure, why go out of our way to make it easy on the consumer, we have the only game in town. One day the powers to be in Microsoft will find that every mountain will crumble, every king shall one day fall. The ancients all the way back to King Nebuchadnezzar knew that.

I feel your pain John. I still, to this day, cannot fly a single non-default aircraft, nor even load one in the community folder, since the sim must be restarted to recognize it. My sim will ONLY restart AFTER a fresh download. If I shut down and restart, I get an error and program shutdown notice within 15 seconds of loading. The error code is what seems to be the common one for "we know there is a problem, but we can't be bothered with it, so try this..." Then there is a full page of things to try, including reinstalling Windows. Yeh, I did try that. Didn't help. I've given up on 2024, can't, (won't) go back to 2020, so I'm just trolling the forum and playing with my off-road R/C cars.

Good luck on getting your's back up.
