I'm in love...

Bjoern

worst developer ever
You work and work and work and at one point, namely when doing the inflight screenshots, it makes *click*, everything comes together and you're in love (must be because I finally got the cockpit glass tint right, lol).

You know that one (last image in my recent "FSX on strike" thread)

The small mapping bug on the baggage compartment door already got fixed.

Contact points also work now.

Will add some hydraulic cylinders to the spoilers to spice things up a little.

The escape hatch, rivets and numbers are decals, by the way and seperately mapped on an extra layer of polies with a heavily alpha-channeled texture. Painters only need to paint a left/right view of the fuselage texture without having to worry about any extra stuff for the top of the fuselage. I use this technique in some more places on the model.

The blue gear door actuating mechanism attachments are already grey.

Polycount till now: 102000
Draw Calls: 124 (= more performance friendly than FSX's default airliners)
Textures: 4*2048²px with room to spare

Release for the exterior: Not sure yet. Although getting the -130, -310 and APU and extra antenna versions done this week would be beneficial. Got exams coming up next tuesday...

P.S:
Bob (May - from PAD), does the offer for using your 328-1xx panel as an interim solution until I get my VC done still stand?

P.P.S: Pam, do you still want to do that FDE? :D

P.P.P.S: Thinking about getting "Do328-130" or a top-down view of the plane tattoed on my back...haha!

Looking great Bjoern!

:ernae: :applause: :ernae:

Its great to see light at the end of the tunnel.

Love those airbrakes in the wings. Very nice touch.

Fantastic work,Bjoern :ernae:

It's about passion. I'm not nearly as passionate about the old 737s as I am about the 328. So no guarantees...(there are still standards though) ;)

I'm still thinking a bit about the early 737s though. Depending on the amount of changes (apart from the wings and engines) from the Classics to the NG, I might borrow the start-up mesh from FSX's 737 to take a shortcut. If I can get someone to donate me some gauges from that era (HJG?) my workload will decrease even more.

But that's still a loooooooooong time away.

Thanks again!

Bjoern, you would love to spend time at KMYR- Myrtle Beach International Airport in South Carolina. A company called Avcraft is located on the old Air Force Base side of the field and they service and overhaul Dornier 328's and the Dornier Jet. The ramp is normally full of them every time I fly out of MYR. Here's their website: http://www.avcraft.com/

You model looks great and I have been waiting for a good model of the Dornier's. Looking forward to the release.

:salute:

Bjoern can you push one into my paint hagar i want to sleep with i..... i mean paint it, i meant paint it! *clearing throat*

Looking good buddy, can't wait to throw some paint on it! :salute:

And here's AVcraft's german counterpart.

Won't even have to travel that far (southern Bavaria). :d
I've also applied for an internship at 328 Support, but sadly they don't have any open positions at the moment.

Looking good !!
I think the cockpit windows still need some work, though. Have you tried applying a tranparent texture on them, to give them some colorfull reflexions, instead of a constant blue like in your screenshots ?

No spec and bump maps yet, as I don't regard them as very important.

Still need to figure them out as well.
