i'm sure you can understand

I remember years ago, when my Swedish penpal came out to visit me. Her and her friend Eva had never heard of 'peanut butter and jelly' sandwhiches, lol... We had a picknick at a park by the Grand Canyon. I picked up some bread, peanut butter, jelly, and made sandwhiches at the park. It was totally new to them. I think they said it reminded them of a certain something like a morning strudel.

Here we (in America) were raised on those in grade school (long ago, box lunches), a staple component of our diets, lol..


My fave was a fresh 'bacon, lettuce, and tomato' sandwhich with hot, crispy bacon in there on white bread with cold slices of tomato.

I do love my BLT's. Until I got married and my wife mastered the art, my personal favorite BLT's were the ones they served on the Santa Fe Railroad's dining cars. I had 'em whenever we took the train to visit my great-aunt. That was way back before Amtrak, when food was still prepared to order on the trains and microwaves were still 15 years in the future. :)

although, my personal all-time fav, is a simple cheez steak, on an amoroso roll (of course) with salt, pepper and A-1. sometimes ketchup or BB-Q sauce.

They were fun people. What a blast we had. Monica ended up having too many drinks at Clint Eastwoods little pub, Hogs Breath (or Bores Breath, I forget). That was in Carmel by the Sea, Northern California.

A very wild accent. Its like a Texan speaking German backwards. Very wild. Monica spoke better German than English, so I was talking in German and English, and Eva would help her to understand when I didnt make sense, (which with me can be often, lol).

Wild though that they didnt know about peanut butter and jelly sandwhiches.

The most FAMOUS sandwich in the Pittsburgh area! Recently made the Yahoo front page for one of the top sandwiches in the nation. If you ever visit the Burgh', do yourself a favor and try one of Primanti's Brothers famous sandwich. It's awesome! :applause: And it's even better with :icon29: ;)

What all is on that thing? Looks yummy.


Here in Phoenix, they have a little restaurant in town square in the heart of Phoenix called Toms Tavern. All the big wigs in Phoenix can be found occasionally having lunch there. They have the worlds BEST pestrami sandwhich. Goodness.....
