Infinity T-38A and T-38C for MSFS 2024 released

ColoKent

SOH-CM-2025
Aerodynamics has released a T-38A/C model for MSFS 2024. Here is the link to their site:

I've bought it, and it's a bit of a wonky install, as they have their own "Infinity Manager" that seems at first glance like a real PITA. I managed to install the airplane, register it, and I've been trying to fly it around the pattern...but the throttle control seems screwed up with a mind of it's own (constantly goes to FULL AB, no matter what the throttle axis position is on my modest Logitech Extreme 3d joystick/throttle). And of course, their link to Discord doesn't work (yet?) so it is difficult to get assistance. ~$30 USD...Visual model looks superb. Still in the early minutes of screwing around with it...if they release a paintkit, and I can figure out how to make the throttles work correctly...I think it has potential.

EDIT: My throttle problem was self inflicted. I inadvertently had “Toggle Afterburner” assigned to a key. After I fixed that…it flew pretty much like a T-38, but was very unstable…at least part of which I attribute to 2024…since so far, it seems like nearly everything flies like garbage in 2024. I really want to like 2024…but it’s often not cooperating! As for the paint kit, I asked the developer, and he said “We’ll see…” (which I think is the Gen Z equivalent of “No”…). Still considering Blackbird’s soon to be released T-38A…to pair with Miltech’s U-2R/S as a “mission set”.

I worked with Milviz on their T-38A and later on the USAF's T-38C model. I don't know how much "C" model's FDE magic they were allowed to bring over from the dedicated USAF model, but the T-38C was a dream to fly. I plan on waiting for the Milviz model. I just hope they don't dumb it down for M$ and the space cadet crowd. That will pi$$ me off.

I'm not overwhelmed with the Infinity T-38 so far. I've only flown the -A variant (Haven't flown the -C yet). I feel like the controls are very skittish (overly sensitive)...although part or all of this could be a need to create a T-38-specific profile in 2024 for the airplane since IMHO, everything except the Albatross seems to be overly sensitive (The T-33 does okay...but even it is a bit sensitive). I'm 99% sure I'm going to get the Blackbird T-38A as well (I like the steam gauges better than the glass...which is why I've only flown the Infinity -A thus far). Bottom line is that I still like the feel of airplanes in 2020 more than 2024.

I had the same issue with a couple of other add-ons (one being the freeware Rafale M), until I figured it it was do to that same assignment. Having said that, I'm waiting for the Blackbird T-38 release before making any decision. Thanks for your feedback on this model. PS: Same on the 'A' model steam gauges, as it's what I trained on in UPT back in the day.

Yeah...I was commissioned in 1983 (young compared to John!!!), and the -As were what the AF and NASA were flying...so I am drawn to that. Hope you are staying warm. It was nippy this morning down here at 0430 as I headed to Orange Theory!

Pretty cold here as well. Mid teens in the AM the last couple of days. I get why people retire to more southerly locations.

With the PS5 version of FS24 shipping on Friday and the T-38 being a preorder bonus for that, I’d expect to see the MS/Milviz version released this week or next. Probably $20, $15 for Premium/Deluxe owners. T-38A only, but given its pedigree, likely a really solid simulation. So I’m going to hold off.

Plus the Infinity Manager thing leaves a bad taste in my mouth… I understand why DRM is necessary as this genre is chalk full of piracy, but I need to hear more about that thing not causing issues before I consider using it.

Spot on. I'm still wrestling with the Infinity T-38 (nothing better to do at the moment!), but I agree...really not a fan of Infinity Manager. The Blackbird T-38A still looks like the best bet.

Update: a couple of days in, I am becoming happier (translation: more proficient) with the Infinity T-38, and beginning to realize that part of my flight control and drift issues are likely to my cheap(ish) integrated joystick/throttle (Logitech Extreme 3D) and possible wear in the device. I'm beginning to think that my 5 year old Logitech is no longer precise enough for the Talon. Still waiting for baited breath for the Blackbird T-38A...but not yet ready to "throw the baby out with the bathwater" regarding the Infinity version.

I'd like to see both of those for sure. Someone asked on their Discord about a paintkit and it sounds like it's at the stage of "we need to look into that..."

I hope it gets more repaint love than the SC/DC Designs F-5. Dean was cool enough to do a low-vis RCAF F-5, but never saw the silver and other schemes I was hoping for.

Installed and flown a few patterns. Flies great for me. However, in external view the wheels have wicked jitters. Looking forward to Blackbird version since I was totally addicted to that bird.

*Whispers in Kent's ear* Wingwin, or is it Winwing... I have four of their devices, including throttle and stick. I find them to be ourstanding units. Smooth and accurate.

John - Your timing is PERFECT. I was just over on Amazon looking at joysticks and found nothing that floated my boat, so to speak...off to look Winwing...Thanks for the tip!

Thanks John and Navy Chief-- I just pulled the trigger on Winwing's URSA MINOR Fighter Joystick (great review videos on You Tube). If I like it, I'll probably eventually splurge for their Orion2 HOTAS MAX setup (...it's expensive...but it looks WONDERFUL). And getting better with the T-38 in parallel...can't wait to pair flying it with more precise stick control.
