Infinity T-38A and T-38C for MSFS 2024 released

Are you guys still liking this? I have the Blackbird version, but I really want a Thunderbirds paint. There's almost no repaint action for the Blackbird/MS T-38, so I can drop $8.99 for an improperly colored JEDSIM Marketplace add-on** for that version, or just spend $29.99 on the Aero Dynamics/Infinity version and also get a T-38C to play with. Leaning towards the latter if y'all are still satisfied with this package.

** The JEDSIM package not only gets the blue really wrong, but it also includes fictional metal paints and.... dirty Thunderbirds paints. That never happens. Airshow aircraft by nature are kept squeaky clean.
 
I have the Infinity T-38 and absolutely love it! I chose it following a recommendation from Navy Chief, and I'm glad that I did.

I still like it. There's only a couple of issues that I've found. First, it seems to be way over powered. However, the last time I flew a T-38 was near the end of 1988. Secondly, the "spine" on the fuselage has an excessive ridged appearance from certain angles. Overall, those are minor compared to how nice the rest of the model is.
 
Still on 2020 and waiting, on that note a YT vid popped in my algorithm a couple of days ago covering IRL ops. Search "Cider C", just posted a T-38C ILS vid that includes the center MFD, would be cool to see how close Infinity got it.

On the discord it is the opposite, everyone unanimously agrees it is underpowered, takes way too long to rotate. I tried a tandum takeoff and in the blackbird t38 and had to cut the throttle and pull speed brakes in order not to hit them. I gave them like a 5-6 second head start too.

The devs admitted to ignoring the performance numbers and rather relying on go pro footage was a little odd.(i believe they said they would temporarily add power in a patch)

I made a joke that if it were fsx id swap the flight model and sounds of blackbird into the infinity model

Interesting Dave. Unlike you I thought it was under powered. I also found the pitch to be too twitchy. Like you, my real time flying of the T-38 was over 50 years ago.
 
Oooh, I resisted their initial release, but I'm gonna have to bite on this one! They have a new package with the Nasa T-38N (with current NASA avionics!) and the F-5B with its lovely coke-bottle tip tanks.

The NASA package interests me as I tend to gravitate towards their paints and I started my serious work on this model. On MSFS forums, a flier reports:

  1. FPS halved when using either model and app is working in the background.
  2. Flight model for both new models is not as good as T38 - it is too twitchy and overly sensitive
  3. Again, you have over-complicated the method to add stores to the F5B
  4. Tried to configure 3 tank ferry fit but aircraft loaded clean
  5. A few freezes when aircraft stops communicating with app and no apparent method to fix.
As an ex military flying instructor, remember ‘KISS’ - keep it simple stupid....All aircraft have damping and inertia when manoeuvring - these appear to have been removed or reduced in latest updates. "

Having flown the T-38A in UPT I wanted to love the "C" model. However, at least on my system I do not like the flight model. I was part of the team who developed the military version of the T-38C for Milviz, That was model amazing and true to life, for a MSFS model. Unfortunately, the contract with the USAF did not allow for it to be released to the civilian world. So while I hope for a better FM with Inifinity, I fly the Milviz "A" model from MSFS24. I believe it is a better model.

That is what I wanted to hear about Infinity. I wonder what their target group is. It'd make sense to have the "realism" crowd in sights, but who knows.

I did the vids and was a general nuisance back in the day for MV.
