iniBuilds T-33 FS20 paints for FS24?

Ok, starting on the Canadian ones... Getting a weird-pixel-bleed-thingy I'm trying to get rid of.

The Canadian ones won't be coming fast and furious like the USAF ones as I'm going to be adding updates/improvements to my RCAF templates first.

Whoops!

Red Knight livery updated to version 1.1 - forgot to include Marcel's improved instrument textures as mentioned in the ReadMe. Fixed now, same download link as post above. Sorry guys!

Another work in progress...

21085, Gunnery tug attached to No. 1 Pilot Weapons School, RCAF Station MacDonald, Manitoba, early 1950s.

Still tweaking the day glow orange colour.

Ooooh. Love the DayGlo!

Still no external canopy in FS2024 SU3 beta 1.5.10.0. IniBuilds expected the WASM fix in today's update would fix it, but nope. All these awesome Jocko417 liveries and I have to stay inside the plane!

That’s disappointing. There are so many little irritants in this new sim that distract attention from everything good about it. Having to turn HDR off before screenshots? What?!?

Just finishing up, 21085 of No.1 Pilot Weapons School, earliest DayGlo markings style with control surfaces also painted, combined with existing red search markings makes for a pretty colourful scheme...

Under wing markings were non-standard, the two letter ID was spaced much further inboard so it would clear the pylons.

Just a couple of touch ups to do and then I'll post the DL link here.

BTW, if you'd like to see a cool pdf of the MacDonald info booklet:

Very nice, I must try to get my T33 livery working again.

Is there any way of permanently disabling the modern cockpit?
I can flip it in the EFB but it keeps coming back and I hate it!

New one incoming, 21505 of Central Experimentation and Proving Establishment (CEPE), used for ejection seat testing for most of it's career. Perhaps the canopy not showing in the latest beta is fitting for this bird ;)

How complicated is it to convert a 2020 livery to work in 2024? The author of the excellent Blue Angels T-33 livery doesn't seem interested in doing a 2024 version, and I was curious if there's a documented process I could use to update it for my own usage.

There will be a reason he's not interested - it's near on impossible, I've tried...
I think there was a thread on the official forum, with a script to convert to ktx2, but that's the easy part. The model structure and mapping has changed.
Good luck :)

I found this on fs.to:

Don't know how good it is.

And then on the flightsimulator.com forums, there's this:

I can convert it for you. Which of the two Blue Angels liveries on flightsim.to is it? :)

I am going to watch this and see if I can figure it out in the next few days. Has anyone here used this program? It sure would have been nice if Asobo would have made a simple converter for all those wonder repaints we enjoy in FS2020.

Tim what program do you use to do the conversion?

Thanks, Ed

I use that program/script by FLAK for all of my 2024 repaints. It may seem a bit complicated the very first time you're finding out how to install and use it, but you'll soon realize it is incredibly easy and saves a ton of time.

Once you have FLAK's files installed, there are folders included for the Albedo, Comp, Decal and Normals files. All you have to do is save all of your texture files as .PNG, place them in the correct folders for their type, and then run the script file. With the script file open, you just press 2 and enter, which will automatically generate all of the .XML files needed, and then you just press 4 and enter, and it will run the MSFS 2024 sim/SDK which will convert all of the .PNG files to the correct 2024 KT2X format, and will spit them out into a single Output folder, along with all of .JSON files.
