Iris C-27J inbound immenently....

Gone back to 1.0

No thanks. I will pass on 1.2.1 as is. FDE is screwed up if I have to change to easy for just one aircraft and that would keep it in the hangar gathering dust. The EC model is not attractive to me at all. The AC is fine but I will go back to 1.0. I was happy with that. Wouldn't mind adding the AC by itself. Hope you will fix it up soon.

Jim

I think the Radar boom on the EC is too steep angled as IIRC its angled to be horizontal at a certain airspeed and AOA, if i get this in FSX the aircraft is climbing still and is a quite a low speed...

Thank you for the update. Anyone up for a RCAF 440Sq Set??

I just picked up the Spartan a couple days ago. Fantastic model! I have a power question for people in the know. The pilot handbook says under the "Lineup Checklist" so set throttles at 90% of Max RPM. I'm assuming they mean 90% N1 since the props are running at 100%. So is 90% N1 maximum take off thrust for this aircraft? I notice there is a green, yellow and red tick mark right near 90% and another red tick mark at gauge limits for N1. Can full throttle be used for take off? Wouldn't the FADEC provide N1 and N2 overspeed protection at full throttle? If full thrust is OK for takeoff, is there a time limit to operate between the two red tick marks? Thanks for any info.

Well, no answer to my power question but I found that by operating the engines above 90% N1 will cause an overheat pretty quickly so that's obviously a limit that needs to be adhered too.

I think there's a serious FDE problem with this aircraft, at least from a power standpoint. The Spartan performance data on their web site states it can get airborne in 1900' from of an unpaved surface at gross weight. The IRIS model won't come anywhere near that.

I must apologize as my development machine is out of commission at the moment, and i'm unable to test this out. I seem to remember being able to take off in less than a thousand feet on that machine, but thats not only on that machine, its also the way i fly.. As soon as I can repair the machine, i will tst this out and make corrections. May I ask if your using version 1.0 or 1.1?? there apparently were some changes to 1.1s flight model which others have found issues with as well..

Hi Pam, thanks for the response. By the time I purchased the Spartan (from The FlightSim Store) version 1.2 was out. I also installed the updated .cab file which I believe makes it version 1.21. Is there a way to download older versions to use until the FDE gets adjusted on the new version?

Well, David has the fde for 1.2 which i dont have.. I DO have 1.0 which everyone seems to have liked a lot.. I dont know if David will mind my sending you the older version file or not, but if you PM me your email, 'll zip it up and send it too you in the morning.. My dv machine is back up, but today it's being defragged and tested looking for the system problems that caused it to fail yesterday.. apologies for my bad timing.. ..

PM sent Pam, thanks.

I understand your computer problems, we've all been there. Good luck sorting it out.

while you guys are making fictional variants

have you considered a naval version ie to replace the hawkeye

ie hook and folding wings and maybe dome

Hi Pam,
No reply to my PM about acquiring version 1.0 dynamics. Any luck tracking them down?
