Iris PC-21 pre-order model?

See post 17

I did. Tried two different ways to remove them but couldn't get er' done. As I said - no biggie as I'll figure it out. Just wish there was an easy way to remove them (point and click kinda thing).

...and just to make it clear - it doesn't reduce my overall enjoyment of the PC-21 one bit. A great add-on by IRIS!!!

I'm anothereone that can't get the tanks removed based on the instructions posted here. Also, unable to shut the engine down even after all power off, and all fuel removed. In exterior view, the engine is always trying to start. And..... now I am getting out of memory errors and loose the textures on this model.

Ok, time for a delete and reload -- Let's see what happens.

DVJ, You're the second person who's mentioned about memory errors with the paints. I think it's down to the fact that both VC and External art all default to 32-Bit files, which are significantly larger in memory use than DXT5 compressed art. (65Mb per 4096 tile in 32-Bit, compared to 16Mb for 4096 tile in DXT5)

As part of the general release installer which we're currently putting together, we'll add some DXT5 paints to the optimizer folder which will allow users to customise their experience and hopefully minimize any memory issues.

As for the engine shutoff, that's a new one for us. check that both front and rear cockpit starter and ignition switches are OFF, as well as the fuel cutoff paddle being pulled. It might be that the rear switches are in the on position even if the front seat are turned off.

As for the fuel tanks, I tried again this morning and it all seemed fine here.

Further to my last... we've altered the VC and External paints to default to DXT5 to save memory. If the user wants to install the higher resolution 32 bit art, they're located in the support folders (IRIS/Pro Training Series/Pilatus PC-21/High Res Art/ folder.)

After the reload:

- able to remove the aux tanks as per the previously written instructions.

- Yes, discovered that both front and rear cockpit switches had to be off to get the full shutdown.

- No memory errors so far after the reload.

Beautiful, but is the trim gauge right?

Smudge, is the aileron trim gauge indicator backwards? I trim LWD and the gauge shows the left wing going up. The testers didn't miss that, did they?

The PC-21 is absolutely beautiful. I am enjoying it a bunch. Thank you for a fine addition to my flightline. :applause:

LOL, who knows, after three months of staring at it, even I missed the AOA indexer was backwards..:D

Truth be told, I certainly had no need to trim the ailerons, so I didn't really check.

We were hoping to have it up and running this morning, but I woke up to a broken site...joy. As soon as the IRIS site is back up and running (we're currently working with the service provider) our distribution partners will be notified of information to set up their own stores with the product.

I just love the new black cockpit. :salute:
Your rendition of the HUD symbols is the best going. LOL still not a fan of the pink in the HUD glass but understand why it's there. Enjoying just sitting on the ground burning fuel and playing with all the switches and buttons.

Had an odd thought, has anyone ever made a simulator for an aircraft in FSX? A cockpit without the engines and airframe. Crazy idea I know. Well in RW pilots use simulators. Couldn't we get some simulator time before flying our FSX aircraft? Ok, I'm laughing, are you? :icon_lol:
