Italian evolution

Hi Huub

The variety of different models is most probably one of the biggest reasons why I moved back to FS9.

Why not use FS9 planes in FSX (Almost all are compatible) with bigger resolution texture?

Hey Alessandro,

Another unexpected guest is the dungeons. I hope everything is well. I have FSX installed as well and to be honest it looks really nice. And I have several FS9 model working in FSX. However among the "variety of different models" I also love the relative simplicity of FS2004. In most cases with FS2004, I understand what goes wrong when something goes wrong. With FSX it remained guessing. But there also are many reasons to keep FSX installed. And perhaps one day, when your G.50 and MC.202 are finished I will move over to MSFS.

But until than I will keep firing up my FS2004 and occasionally fly in FSX.

Cheers,
Huub

I go between FS2004, FSGW3 and FSX. I'm a big fan of vintage aircraft so I enjoy my FSGW3 install. I'm also a big Helicopter fan so I fly them in both FS2004 and FSX. Lately I've been looking for more Italian aircraft so I can fly them in FSGW3.

I'm curios on how to get my FS2004 aircraft to fly in FSX. I'm going to have to look into that.

Rob

The Reggiane Re2005 Sagittario can still be purchased; I have done so of late!

First, make sure you have an account with flight1.com.

Second, download the Sagittario from: (https://web.archive.org/web/20110222063146/http://www.skyunlimited.net/files/re2005_fs.exe) as a flight1 wrapper/installer; the archived sky-unlimited web page detailing the model may be found here: (https://web.archive.org/web/20110222063146/http://www.skyunlimited.net/re2005.htm)

Third, purchase as you would normally with the flight1 wrapper - entering your details including flight1 account address; the flight1 wrapper will not unwrap the product after purchase because Flight1 has discontinued the key system.

Fourth, to get your key and unwrap the product, you'd have to go here (https://www.flight1.com/view.asp?page=newkey) and from your flight1 account, enter your order details and the email used in your purchase, for flight1 to send you a new key via a downloadable link. Use that downloaded key along with the password, which is the last 4 digits of your credit card used in your purchase to unwrap and install the flight1 Reggiane Re2005.

Hope the above helps anyone still interested in purchasing the beautiful Italian Sagittario ;)

Cheers!

Will not run in Win10

I downloaded the file, but when I double clicked on it I got a Windows Defender error. I chose to run anyways, but nothing shows on screen even though the Flight1 Purchasing Module(32bit) is showing as running in Task Manager. Any suggestions?

Right-click the executable and run as administrator and permit the executable to run! Works fine for me on both Windows 7 and Windows 10.

I've just downloaded the Flight1 wrapper, more out of curiosity than anything else, as I've had a couple of other installers that did what KC013 reported. And, lo & behold, it did exactly the same thing. It's annoying, because most of my old Flight1 products installed perfectly well, after I changed the compatibility settings. Hey ho.

The other things that has eluded me is the SkyUnlimited installer for their Mustang packages which, for some reason I had bought twice (I guess the early & later versions). I've tried downloading from the Wayback machine, but it always gets halfway then restarts. Very frustrating.

The continuing saga, lol. Borrowed a friend's laptop also with Windows 10 and same results. Next I went spelunking into the deep dark depths of my basement storage area, and retrieved an Ancient Windows XP laptop. The file ran but gave an error that it could not reach the website. I was about to give up when I received two emails from my bank referencing two purchases without the card being present. Hmmmm, amounts look like they are correct for the Re2005. Hop onto my Flight1 account and sure enough there were two purchases of the 2005. Opened a ticket to have one refunded so we'll see where that goes.

I am still awaiting the link to download the file, but have already received the key to unwrap the file when I get it. Hope to have the 2005 flying soon! Bonus being I have learned to "Tap Dance" due to this process, lololol.

Sorry to hear about your troubles. Indeed when I purchased, it processed the payment, added the purchase to my flight1 account but popped an error! What I did next, after retrieving the key per aforesaid, was re-open the installer, and instead of clicking purchase, I clicked re-install option - it asked for the key, which I selected on my drive (having retrieved it earlier from flight1) and the password which was the last-4 digits of my credit card, and it unwrapped. Feel free to do the same! I am not sure what download file you are waiting for! ;) Happy flights!

You are very welcome Ken, and likewise, many thanks Huub for the red acrobatic livery; I found your repaint sufficiently stunning (a real work of art!) that I had to purchase the Re.2005 and it is a beauty to fly... ;)

Cheers!

With older add-ons that will not install in Windows 11, I've found that if i copy the installer to my desktop, right-click to get properties, then run in XP mode & as Administrator...
The installer will work.

Unfortunately, this is what I tried first. I agree it usually works, but not in this case on my system. May be system sensitive. I have seen that kind of behaviour in executables before.
