Ito's P-82....is there a FDE set for it?

I will have to put together a P-82B sound pack using Lawdog's latest P-51 sound pack as the base.

Just "created" a dedicated sound pack for the Merlin powered P-82B. And will continue to FS9ize it with better evironmental sounds (such as the canopy sounds) and will do the same for the Allison powered F-82G. Will upload both packs in a day or so....unless life throws another pile of steaming poo at me.

Well, I decided to go back and redo the VC panel anyway and just let the gauges place themselves based on the VC settings in the panel.cfg file. . . .welllllll. . .not exactly. There is a whole section for the VC with gauges listed in the cfg, however, it appears that Ito San never added them. I don't know how that works to be honest. I'm not sure how you can have a VC entry, look in FSPS and see that there are physical gauges present, but not have them show up in the airplane.

Anyway, the VC is basically one big bitmap with nothing that works, lol. To show you how dense I was, when I did the VC bitmap and loaded it into the airplane for the first time, all I saw was a blank panel. . .I went into FSPS, the gauges were there. . .so what's the problem? lol, finally when I cranked the engines and looked. . .ohhhhhhhhhhhhhhh, lol.

I'm going to finish what I've done and upload it, only because it's sharper looking (resolution that is), but it won't be functional.:salute:

I would love to see Mr. Ito revisit these planes...even if all he did was to add a very simple working VC. Just enough to have working gauges in the cockpit.

Hi,

By the way, Is there a better prop blur for these Mustangs?

As some seem's interested by this model (count me in) ... anyone to made a better prop blurr ?

Hello Lads

I seem to remember that Gary Jones created a soundpack for a twin Merlin, maybe it can be adapted?

Gary Jones did a twin Merlin in October for the skeeter.

The VC, revisited with better resolution. If anyone is interested in repainting, I'm going to build a paint kit for it as well.:salute:

Check your e-mail. I sent you the packs to check out.

OBIO

Received and tested.

The NA P-82B Pack, sounds righteous through and through!!!
:ernae:
The NA F-82G Sounds, sound real good for start-up. Though they're still missing something in mixing. Maybe have another listen?

For engine sounds, I just added the default P-51 racer sounds from FSX. Sounds pretty nice.:salute:

VC Bitmap has been uploaded to the SOH Downloads section.:salute:

The VC is odd for sure. The texture doesn't even line up. Not by your doings. Are we committed that it can't be moved to correct it?

The bitmap you made looks much better!

The sound pack I used for the F-82G is Lawdog's most recent P-40 package. The individual sound files are amazing, but something just isn't right with the way they overlap during throttle advancement. At one point in the power band, you hear the loping of the engine like it is idling and at the same time you hear the roar of the engine at power. I have looked and looked at the config file, but have been unable to figure it out.

Not sure if the original placement of the virtual vrs the visible airplane which was something like ten feet off when I did the FM has anything to do with the VC issue. A good part of the flying plane was originally well outside the visible plane! Took a major amount of work with ACM to get them both in the same place.

That's what I noticed too. You just put to words what I couldn't describe to make sense. It will have to do then.

I don't want to come across as not understanding what you mean but, I haven't a clue what your talking about..lol. All I seeing is that the bitmap placement in relation to the modeled area of the VC is way low in relationship to where it should be.

So is there any way to correct the missing gauges problem in the VC with ACM or is that something that has to be coded into the mdl file first before they are visible. Everything seems to be where it should be when looking at it in FSPanel Studio. The panel.cfg file has an active VC section. . .the proper gauges are correctly referenced for placement and FSPS shows that the gauges are placed on the VC Window. Despite all that. . .no active gauges in the sim.
