JF Tornado GR1 RELEASED

Also, as a complex aircraft it's best to launch a flight in the Tornado directly from the main menu after starting FSX/P3D, rather than switching from another aircraft, to avoid causing any issues with the gauge initialisation.

The Saudi's seem to be changing their tonka's from sand camo to grey.

Just downladed at Flightsm, very nice! THANK YOU
Like the comment posted there I fully agree about Italian Tornado,
Italian normal line paints have been a little underestimated.

My simulator is brought down to some stills with this one, 0,4 frs! Really? No point in keeping this one on my drive, sorry.

Edit: I have some more acceptable results now but it still is a heavy one on the frs.

If you are experiencing very low FPS then please check that you are not running the simulator with compatibility mode enabled, as that has been known to the cause that issue.

Thanks
Martyn

That's right, but after I had the compatability disabled I stilll remained very poor on the framerates.

It'll always be a demanding product due to its complexity but you can find more information on optimising performance (a tool is included for that) on the support page. In P3D v4, using a fairly modest PC, I get approx 50-60 FPS in the VC and 90+ FPS in the exterior view. If you are using a modern gaming PC and are seeing less than that, then it might be worth getting in touch with our support team.

Thanks
Martyn

Heads up: Service Pack 5 is out. The Tonka is now P3Dv4 compatible.

And let's see if the installation folder restriction has indeed been relaxed or lifted.

I am running the P3dV4 sp5 version outside the "Prepar3D v4" sim folder, no issues so far (I also moved the custom font file and effects to external folders which are aliased in fonts.cfg and effects.cfg).

I might give that SP5 a try somewhere in the coming weeks, but I'm not in a hurry.
Even the SP4 was too heavy for my computer. After setting all the options to minimum in the configuration tool, the FPS are just acceptable, but only on the parking. As soon as I start moving/flying, the scrolling smoothness is totally destroyed.
I assume my CPU, a very old i7 960, is not up to the task.

In the meanwhile, I bought the SSW Tornado, which is very fluid all the time. The JF Tornado does look better, yes, but I just can't fly it. The situation will probably be better once I get a newer computer, of course... I hope...
