Junkers Ju-52/3m

Hello Smilo,
Well, I´m glad you give it the thumbs up, and I´m glad you had fun with it.
That´s the whole point anyway, and thanks for your testing.
So I´ll proceed with the uploads.

To centre the map view window on the bomb aimer´s panel is quite easy:
Just drag the botom border down with the mouse until the centre crosshairs
line up with the centre of the bomb symbol. It was a bit too long to describe
in the sparse on-panel instructions, but the readme mentiones it.

OK then!
Cheers,
Aleatorylamp

Two armed Ju52/3m versions uploaded.

Hello folks!
Here are the two armed versions of the Ju52/3m:

The g5e in green-grey livery with light-grey underneath, as in the Balkans campaign:

...and the g43 night-flier as recovered from Lake Hartvikvannet in Norway in 1983:

Special thanks go to Ivan and Smilo for their inestimable help and advice during the
construction of these models, without which they would doubtlessly not have come
out so well.
Enjoy!

Cheers,
Aleatorylamp

well, that was a quick upload.

i guess i won't bother telling you
how to preset the bomb aimer,
map view center cross hair, without using the mouse.
or, suggest that you have a look at the aimer bitmap
while flying over light colored terrain or water.
or point out a few minor editing errors
in the file id, readme and check list documents.
or, that i didn't see any reference or instructions
as to toggling the different vc views.
especially, in padlock mode.

i had compiled a list of minor issues
that i thought we might go over before release,
but, i didn't want to bombard you with it
on the first post after testing.
so much for that idea...and so it goes.

A new entry has been added to Add-Ons Library, category CFS 1 Aircraft Add-Ons

Description: CFS1 Armed Ju-52/3m g5e.
-------------------------------
This military version of the original Ju52/3m tri-motor passenger and cargo aircraft, is armed with a cockpit 20 mm MG151/20 machine-cannon, a dorsal 13 mm machine-gun and two 7.92 mm waist machine-guns in lateral fuselage positions, and has a capacity for 10 x 110 lb bombs, or 3 tons of cargo.

To make CFS1 air defense possible, apart from the normal Virtual Cockpit, two extra Virtual Cockpit views have been added, specially useful with the TG2 (Tail Gunner 2" Add-on), for Combat mode in Padlocked Chase View:
One is from the cannon gunstation above the cockpit, offering all-round views above the plane, and the other is a virtual view from inside, behind the cabin, offering downwards views between the winds and landing gear. Some elements of the aircraft remain visible, but it is the only method of standing a chance during attacks from below.
This armed g5e transport/auxiliary bomber version has 3x830 Hp engines, and a top speed of 183 mph at S.L. The livery corresponds to a unit that saw service during the invasion of Crete in 1941.

Several Ju52/3m´s are at present on display in very good condition in museums in different countries, and quite a few still fly today.

Virtual and Transparent cockpit elements, and extra Virtual Cockpit Views added using SCASM. TG2 Add-on, Bomb Aimer´s Panel and Custom panel with customized engine gauges included. RPM and Boost Gauges programmed by Ivan.

A new entry has been added to Add-Ons Library, category CFS 1 Aircraft Add-Ons

Description: CFS1 Ju-52/3m g4e armed transport/auxiliary bomber
-------------------------------------------------------------
The Ju-52/3m was originally designed as a passenger and cargo aircraft, and extensively used around the world by airlines of many different countries. With the outbreak of WW2, the design was militarized into different versions, including auxiliary bomber, logistics, paratrooper and troop transport, ambulance and even minesweeper.

This g4e version has 3x725 Hp engines, a top speed of 172 mph at 3000 ft, with capacity for 18 troops, 3 tons of logistics or 10x110 lb bombs.

This release in night-camo, corresponds to Factory Nr. 6657 Ca+JY, one of the units recovered in Norway from Lake Hartvikvannet in 1986, currently fully restored an on display at Forsvarets Flysamling Gardemoen. Several other restored units still fly today in different countries.

Armament on the model is a cockpit 20 mm MG151/20 machine-cannon, a dorsal 13 mm machine-gun, and two MG15 waist guns, plus 10 x 110 lb bombs can be carried.

Intended for use with TG2 ("Tail Gunner 2" Add-on): Three virtual cockpit views are featured, achieved with SCASM: Pilot´s view, cockpit gunner´s view and ventral view, to facilitate aircraft defense. Virtual and transparent cockpit elements also added with SCASM. Bomb Aimer´s panel and Custom Panel with custom engine gauges included. RPM and Boost Gauges programmed by Ivan. TG2 "Tail Gunner 2" Add-on also included.
