Jurassic World

dvj

SOH-CM-2023
Orbx has released Jurassic World for those interested in add on scenery. Here's a flyover review. It appears to be empty of any human figures, vehicles. Orbx apparently spaired no expense with this project. Looks a wee bit disapointing.

As for the people, they were there until the dinosaurs got hungry. :)

Priller, it's a flight sim add-on. It's fun. Not everything in the sim has to be realistic. It's an add-on you can add if you think it'd be fun to explore the world from the movie, or that touring kids around the dinosaurs will bring them joy or maybe even get them interested in the sim, etc. And if it's not your cuppa tea, you can just skip it. Personally, I'd spend the money on this over, say, an A350 Airbus any day! Not liking a Jurassic Park add-on isn't that different than the tubeliner fliers and DCS fans who don't understand why we'd want to fly Corsairs or F-16s in MSFS -- just because it's not for you doesn't mean it's not a legit and fun way to use the sim!

Sometimes unrealistic stuff in the sim is just fun. I'm going to pick this up when it hits Marketplace (since I have credit there from Bing rewards).

Not Jurassic Park, but fun!

Bought the $24 offering. A total waist of time and money. Few animations, graphics substandard for FS2024. WFT, what were they thinking? Total money grab. ORBX has some explaining to do.

Yikes, thanks for the report, @dvj ... I already have Jurassic Park dinos around Kauai (where it was actually filmed), so I'll just stay happy with those, I guess. I was already on the fence, particularly since there's already an excellent freeware version of the Costa Rica airport they include.

The PAC 750 liveries are free (included in the latest update) if you already own the plane. Haven't bought the new scenery, but they work well with the Kauia dinos from a freeware add-on a few years ago.

Update: You can fly and fly, and fly some more and not see much. The dinos are scattered about, in very small groups. I did encounter a flight of flying dinos over one of the other islands, with no other signs of life. The monorail seems to have only one moving train, and it moves slowly with some jitters. The gate to the park on the elevated track did open as the monorail approached. Speculating that ORBX will be adding a lot more to this offering in the future.
