• There seems to be an up tick in Political commentary in recent months. Those of us who are long time members of the site we know that Political and Religious content has been banned for years. Nothing has changed. Please leave all political and religiours commentary out of the fourms.

If you recently joined the forums you were not presented with this restriction in the terms of service. This was due to a conversion error when we went from vBulletin to Xenforo. We have updated our terms of service to reflect these corrections.

Just finished a new 2D panel for the Storch..

Thanks a lot!

Sounds like a great project... was in Johannesburg and the Kruger reserve on my way back
from a 2 yr tour in Korea... an unforgettable experience! Many thanks for your appreciation
of my modest work...
Enjoy your postings a lot...

Is there a decent freeware B-17 F to try a repaint on?
G.

The Donationware B-17 series includes both early and late F models. They're available here in the Donationware section of the library. I don't think donations are required anymore, but not sure.

Thanks a lot!

Thanks for the info... just downloaded the file.
Will see what I can do... with a Memphis Belle repaint.

Nice one again. I still fly Rick Piper's one.

Looking at this profile I realise that the British had a lot of designs where the tail wings and elevators were place behind the tail and rudder.

Cheers,
Huub

A design requirement for spin recovery - it helps to stop the fin & rudder being blanked by the airflow from a stalled tailplane.

Thanks Keith, I knew it had a reason, but couldn't remember what it was. I remember one of the first designs of the F5/34 (Gloster Guardian) didn't have it, but this was changed during the design.

I am not sure, but I think you had asked me for this Merlin engined version...quite a while ago... and the Argentinian one I had done was not the one...
G.

That's correct. The Argentine one as originally done depicted a DB605 powered G.55 whereas the G.59 was a Merlin powered development. A couple of postings later, you did a very nicely done -4b twin seated version. This new one is the early G.59 with the original G.55 canopy. Later versions had a "bubble" canopy.
