G,

There is a Fiat G.59 with bubble top done by Italo D'Attomo and Giovanni Quai. It is available at Flightsim.com and the file name is fiat_g9-a.zip

FS2004/FSX FIAT G59-A. A remake of a previously uploaded airplane from September 2007. Provides a full package (aircraft and panel), both for FSX and FS2004. The G.59 advanced trainer was derived from the G55 Centauro of World War II, this single seat fighter being evolved in single and two-seat trainers in the immediate post war years. The model shown in this package represents a real aircraft flown by the author Capt. Italo D'Attomo in the good old days (year 1951 at Elmas A.F.B.). This model features highly reflective metallic skin and full animations. The panel background has been created entirely from scratch, based on photographic material found on the net and some photos shot by the authors. Most of the gauges have been created by the authors, some are default gauges. Included in this model there is also a virtual cockpit, with working essential flight instruments and animated flight controls, plus camera views (FSX only). By Italo D'Attomo and Giovanni Quai

Thanks you... indeed one of my favorites... Don Gentile

Like Ira Bong.... Don died in an accident after risking his life innumerable times in combat...
Go figure...
His Shangri-La would be a nice livery for one of those fancy pay ware jobs...

Indeed... it looks like it could use a repaint too...

Got to check this one... Unfortunately... and oftentimes, one has to buy it to find out...:wiggle::adoration:
whether the mapping is suitable for ones purposes in attempting a repaint....
If it is not too expensive... I might try it..

As selling FS9 models currently the biggest market the Warbirdsim P-51 is a bit hard to find. There are two different sets. One with models carrying bombs and another set with drop tanks. PCaviator sells the North American P-51 Mustang Fighter Leader I set with the drop tanks, while Simshack sells the North American P-51 Mustang Fighter Leader II set with the bombs.

The sets are not cheap (nearly $30) but personally I consider them worth the amount of money and among the very best models ever made for FS9. You can also be patient because both vendors have sales frequently.

Shangri-La is in the Fighter Leader I set (with the droptanks).

The texture lay-out is quite straight forward. However as there was no paintkit available I asked John "Bomber_12th" Terrell whether I could use his textures and just edit them, which I did for the two repaints I did for this model.

I hope the above makes some sense, and thanks again for the nice profile,

Cheers,
Huub

Old bird, new panel

I have found online a nice (and old) CANT Z501 Seagull and I decided to upgrade the panel. I had found a picture of the panel on a website and I decided to try to reproduce it.
Using gauges from other Italian planes (mostly from MVG Z506 and SM79) I updated the panel. Some switches are not were they should be but that's ok.....there isn't much space in a 2D panel for everything!
The gauge that looks "American" it's an engine oil (olio in Italian) and water temperature. I didn't have a picture for it so I improvised... I hope you don't mind!
