The dirt is yet to come. I'm having more fun bringing out the detail than doing the repaints. :icon_lol:

Only thing I notice that's out of the ordinary, is the prop hub, collars are not in the blur. Easily added?

Something else to experiment with. :running:
 
I could find only one VH-registered Seabee, and it's not even airworthy at the moment.
Still, I need something to explore Oz with..

CF-FSG (cn 919) Poor marooned and chained Seabee in front of the "Desperate, Durty" Dick's and Nellie's Bar & Grill in Sioux Lookout. Built in 1947, this Seabee's has been non-airworthy for quite a number of years.

The "worn and weathered" look, don't go there. Not happening. :sleep:

That photo makes me want to cry. Seriously!!! Such a nice aircraft left to rot like that as a lawn decoration. They have one in Manitwak WI sitting as an airport statue near the road on a cocrete block. Makes me want to rage when I saw it. I really love the Seabee and hate to see them in this condition, but I know that every day more and more are restored to fly again. Hopefully even this poor Seabee will get the love it needs to fly again.

As for weathering, ya. I HATE weathering. Not because I dont like a dirty aircraft, I DO! Its because it TAKES SO LONG TO DO! I think I spent as much time on the Seabee weathering as the entire texture itself.
 
What an outstanding model and fantastic paints. This is going to be one fun model!! And in beta already, you guys are moving right along. :jump:

Another livery down!

This livery is from the owners of the aircraft. They helped me with references and flight model and sent along a pack of photo's of there Seabee! Its currently grounded till they can replace the engine, so im hoping they will enjoy the fact that its flying at least virtually!

The beta is still going strong. The testers are finding a lot of nice little bugs, but thankfully no big show stoppers yet!!!
 
Another almost complete. Still WIP. I'm finding that have to hand draw the stencils on the wingtips and rudder. I'm not excited about that.

Any help finding legible shots of the graphics in these areas would save me a lot of messing around. It won't be released unless it's complete!

What would really help, is if I knew what font it is. I have a whole slew of fonts. I don't want to install them all, but I may have too.

I wonder if there is enough interest that someone could buy the production rights and STCs to produce a modernised version of the Seabee. Perhaps with either a PT-6 or IO-540 engine in her. I think it'd be a good bush plane for Alaska.
 
That wing configuration looks odd.

An update on the wingtips. Not perfect by any means. In fact, I'm not happy with it due to the pixelation, which comes from having such a small subject. Although, I didn't have much choice. Here's my efforts in an attempt.
