KCFS Republic Seabee update thread.

Another quick update. It looks like I will be flying in a real Seabee this Saturday! Finding clear weather up here in the PNW is rather hard this time, but it seems like weather will be opening up just in a nick of time!!! I will be recording video and will post it on my YT channel once its ready.

Enjoy the ride Kevin. I'm looking forward to the video. . . .always nice to get to see first hand what some of these airplanes we fly actually look and sound like.:salute:

Good luck with the weather.

Just remember, you're not allowed to talk on the first date. Listen to her, and record every moan and groan she makes ;)

HB-SEI ~ WIP

A little more tweaking, add the registration, and this one is finished.

Stripes on the tail, add the REG #'s and this one is finished. Owned by a TWA airline pilot.

Jankees, if you do decide to do the NAVY scheme, the "DANGER INTAKE" on the engine cowl, is a PITA! I'm saving it for last :173go1:

Progress shots: N64PN

A few snaps of my progress. A bit more adjusting, but it's real close to being finished.

This is my first armed forces type scheme. I hope it is liked.

I can't believe how much I'm looking forward to this release.

I've only ever seen the real bird once, and that had no engine in situ.

They look even more bizarre in the skin than on the screen - a bit like the first PC6 I ever saw.

Just a short update. I was not able to fly in the real Seabee this weekend. I had a small job crop up and I had to take it. We will try to find another clear day. Hopefully soon! We have some good engine recordings already, but I want to take it to the next level and even get sounds like the switches, the hydrolic pump, and so on. Not quite A2A Accusim level, but as close as my limited budget and time will get ;) If we dont get the recordings in before launch, it will be free in a service pack.

Any news on how the beta tests are going?

My poor credit card is getting a lot of use with these Christmas sales lately, but I'm still holding out room for these sexy View attachment 54700!

(Yes I know that logo is for the USN Construction Battalion SeaBees, but it really seems to fit.)

Things are progressing well. Trying to get 3 peaces to come togeather at the same time is a bit tricky!!! For such a simple aircraft, there are a lot of complex features! Things like the manual hydro pump for the flaps and gears, and even the reverse prop seem simple but in reality are quite complex to program into FSX. Plus we are looking at a differant installer. I really hope to have it out before Xmas, but im not sure right now about that. It really depends on how well the next beta goes.

A lot of us are excited about the 'Bee but no problem, take your time and get 'er right. It'll make an excellent New Years gift. To ourselves! :jump:

Im also excited! This project has been a lot of fun and I didnt expect myself to fall in love so much with the Bee. Its got such charactor! Such history! Its history is even tied too Kenmore Air, something I didnt know till I was doing research. Kenmore Air is one of the last bush pilot airlines that operates here in the PNW and around Seattle. I live near Kenmore and see there yellow aircraft all the time! Kenmore Air was started as a license Seabee sales office off of Lake Washington! They even owned and operated a Seabee for some time! Jan did a livery and that led me to researching and finding those facts. Very interesting hay?

My team and I are going to take some time off for the holidays. This means that the KCFS Seabee wont be released before the Xmas. Right now its time to be with family and not stuck behind a monitor. =)

I hope everyone here has a great Christmas and a happy new year! Once things get back to normal I will let everyone know!

I hope you guys had a wonderful Christmas!

Have been looking forward to the Seabee for quite some time now! Sure is looking fantastic! Probably a little late to offer to help beta test. I guess I can lose track of threads pretty easily somtimes, eh? :icon_lol:
