Lionheart....have tried all the support things at Flight1 and can't get through. How do I get my key #?
Bob

Hi Lionheart, I finally got home and time to fly the new kodiak. Very well worth every dollar spent. Exceptional quality. Now im off to log in some hours around cuba, haiti. Love the chrome with my new 9600GT 1 gig video card. thank you for the scuffy tires.

Trans,

Great screenshot!

Are you sure you do not like the older ultra glossy ArmourAll special radials? :d

Mustang51/Bob,

I sent you a private message.

On a side note; concerning the Garmins.

My system does not use the sophisticated 'menu system'. This means you do not have to go through levels of panel entry (like on a FMC) to set data such as the Transponder. Basically, with the transponder and some other area's (systems), you can actually click right on the screen to make various adjustments. The radios (bar) is also like this. You can adjust on the screen over the numbers or via the adjustment knobs.

This is also why the system runs fast on FS.

For those that wish an 'extreme' and exact Garmin system, you'll need one like Mindstar's G1000 ($50.00 USD) or Nick Pikes Garmin system ($35.00 USD). They may run slower (lower frame rates) on your computers, but they are more exact and feature the authentic menu subsystems for data entry.

Nicks website is here; www.FS2X.com
I 'think' Mindstar is at www.mindstar.com

You know, I may just have to buy this. Just got my paycheck so who knows. I have heard of a few slight problems but I would love to have a new bushplane.

I can recommend Bills planes - because he always works at them and fixes the squawks...you will end up with a great plane for a reasonable price, I assure you.

Hey VCN-1,

They are (were) the same powerplant as the Epic LT and PC-12. Exhaust is rarely visible (that I have noticed in YouTube movies). But if they (Kodiaks) go on a long flight accross country, they will leave a residue on the sides of the aircraft, but that might only be with rainy weather, causing the exhaust to stick to the sides of the fuselage.

Here is the JAARS Missionary plane after a long flight.

Now, if you are just doing a contrail, I would think a very thin whispy exhaust, if visible at all.

Bill

Thank you for the information on the exhaust.

Is it possible to get the left side exhaust pipe coordinates?
Where it exits the pipe.(XYZ)

This would save time over the trial and error method.

I see there are several effects commented out in the cfg file. Didn't work well?

Kodiak is a fun ship.

BTW I added flap vortices that display only in full flaps.

VCN-1

Here is an image with the flap vortices.
As I stated previously it shows up only with full flaps.

VCN-1

VCN-1, those flap vortices look really cool.

Lionheart, the Kodiak is great but where can we get the Lewis landing lights you mention on your homepage ?

Mission: Operation Bible Sweep

There will be some Missionary missions that will surface soon. Maury at AVSIM is an investor in the Kodiak's birth and is working with a friend to create a series of Missionary flights that will be freeware downloads.

For those who can't wait for dedicated missions for this bird, you can try the "Operation Bible Sweep". This free mission can be downloaded from the following link:

http://devenishfamily.com/family/sean_flightsim.html

This mission was originally designed for the FSX Beaver, but by editing one of the mission files, you can substitute the Beaver with any float-plane of your choice. I chose the Black-Turquoise cargo Kodiak on floats for the job that involved dodging and running from the Chinese authorities.

Nothing beats the Kodiak's ability to speed pass the waters and avoiding the patrol boats. As I have the FS Global 2008 terrain mesh installed, the subsequent journey forced me to snake through the valleys to stay below the radar.

Alas, I could not complete the mission as the lake where I was suppose to land and drop off the bibles disappeared due to the use of FSG terrain mesh, but it was fun trying to get there. Kodiak was definitely the tool of choice for this job.

The cfg entry and shots are from FS9, should work in X though.
