landscape texture problem

There is a recurring problem
Clouded the landscape texture :-(
What is causing this?

Any idea?

These are blurries. the landscape textures do not load fast enough. Normally this is a lack of available memory.

When the problem suddenly started it could also be the amount of assigned memory.

If you lock your frame rate, you should see an improvement.
I suggest starting at about 25, and increase it slowly - until you're happy with the compromise.

So this happens over addon airport, this could be defective texture, i had similar problem with one Italian airbase, could you say over which airport this happens?

Hi,

Sometimes that used to happen on the old computer and it would often clear if I went into Map View and then back. I think of it as a logjam of info and it just needs a change of subject to clear.:isadizzy:

This problem can also be caused by multiple texture configurations in a specific aircraft model. I have had a number of aircraft that do this to my VOS scenery, as well as the default FS9 ground textures, and other planes are just fine. After finding that some of my most favorite models were causing a problem, I did a little research and found a fix. I have numerous fixes for certain aircraft in my databases that ELIMINATE the blurries. You pictured an A-10... is that the Aerosoft model? I have the Aerosoft A-10, but it never caused any problems for me.

I know that certain Ati Video cards have this issue.

EMatheson nailed it... That's the easiest way to get rid of the blurries... I found a "jpg" file in one of the models I fly, just recently. It was a duplicate of one of the texture files in the offending texture folder. I just got rid of it all together and it cured the problem. The DXTfixer is a slick tool to use, not sure how it seeks out the bad eggs in the texture folders. I have found that some texture folders have files in DXT-1, DXT-3 and 32 Bit ( quite a combination ). If the alpha channels in any or all of those textures are missing or corrupt, that could cause the blurries. The DXTfixer cures that. In most cases when I run into this problem, I just convert to 32 bit with alpha. It really crisps up the appearance of the model and the cockpit interiors, and it clobbers the blurries.

When you first run the utility, there's a check box that says 'just report issues' that you have to clear.
It'll then fix any issues it finds.
