LOD11 Mesh V2 for the entire European Alps by Alain Ragot

LOD11 Mesh V2 for the entire European Alps by Alain Ragot V2

No permission to download
I downloaded the Alps LOD11 scenery, delighted that one mesh would cover almost all the Alps. Previously I had the Altirelief2lod11 mesh by the same author covering the mostly French Western Alps and LOD9 mesh for all Italy by Pietro Mauri that covered the Italian Alps.

I thought it would be interesting to take the same viewpoint and show the differences of no add-on mesh, the LOD9 mesh of Petro and the LOD11 all Alps mesh.
I chose a spot at 16,800’ directly above the Aosta (LIMW) runway.

This is what it looks like with default mesh (No add-on mesh):

With the LOD9 Pietro Mauri mesh:

And to my surprise with the LOD11 scenery it was identical to the default. What had I done wrong?

I tried with the AlpsLOD11 at priority 1 (still no show) then at priority 2055 (still no show). I removed the empty texture folder (still no show). I re-downloaded the files and re-installed and still no show. I then tried activating both add-on mesh and the LOD9 scenery did not show (as one would expect, FS9 using the higher LOD11).

Has anyone downloaded the all Alps LOD11 recently uploaded mesh and got it to show a difference from the default?

I have been doing some more detective work this morning; I re-activated the Altirelief2lod11 mesh by Alain Ragot that covers just the western alps:

and it does work, pic of the same Aosta view below with it activated (now we have a LOD11 pic to compare to the LOD9):

Interestingly the partial Alps scenery only uses 3 BGLs but in total is bigger (note the BGL file sizes) below:
Altirelief bgls.jpg

than the ALL Alps scenery (that does not seem to change anything from the default) also by Alain Ragot:

My suspicion is that something is missing from the recent ALL Alps upload.

Thanks Wolf for the link. I downloaded the file and although the BGL file names are different they are of identical size. I followed the directions and put the three BGL files in the Addon Scenery\Scenery folder but unfortunately they do not change the mesh from the default.
As per the instructions are these files for FS9 or FSX only?

Is it possible that others are using a version that was designed for FS2004? As Ragot's Altirelief2lod11 works well for me.
Has any one else installed the three BGLs in this download and got them to work in FS9?

@ScottishMike1 a more interesting question would be:
Correct wolfe, this could be "optimal" Terrain tweaks:

TERRAIN_EXTENDED_SOURCE_CHANNELS=256
"""
providing good grafikcard... If u wish to try BACKUP THE PREVIOUS CFG !
cheers Jochen
what in heaven's name is TERRAIN_EXTENDED_SOURCE_CHANNELS=256 ??

I am only in the know about the parameter TERRAIN_EXTENDED_LEVELS=4 in the fs9 cfg, exempli gratia: https://tonymadgehjg.proboards.com/thread/8690/fs9-cfg-tweaks , https://www.pilote-virtuel.com/img/members/6294/FE9G-v1-Manual-EN.pdf

perhaps you may give said parameter a whirl @ScottishMike1 and/or perhaps @Jochen can chime in and fill in the knowledge gaps

cheers
