Hello folks,

The contents of the following Avsim file seemed to be mixed up - contains some USAF bird.


Anyone have the actual repaint referred to here:

If anyone has the correct textures referred to here, please let me know. It turns out our friend and modder "fxsttcb" is also looking for this paint.

If I remember correctly (always suspect) the paint is the Navy plane, but the textures are made to fit the "C" model so you get wing tanks/no missiles.

I had that paint installed for a while but I deleted it because the wing insignia are screwed up; both wings have national insignia on top, none on the bottom (?!)

You can even see it in the second preview pic.

Other than that it's a really nice paint, I wish I knew enough about painting to fix it (for my own use, of course).

EDIT: I just dl'd it again and it IS the Navy VAQ-33 Phantom. He just calls it an F-4C because he used that model to get the configuration he wanted. You can call it an F-4B or whatever you want when you edit your a/c config file. Duckie did the same thing with some of his latest Navy/USMC repaints.
 
That's wacky ... I get a USAF plane .... I cannot explain that.

Oh well, another kind user is fwding the textures tomorrow, so I'll see what happense thereafter. Yes, I'm aware of the pack 2 thing, which frankly suits me fine, as I prefer no weapons in FS, just tanks. Not that I have anything against weapons, since I enjoy CFS2 and SFP1 - just not in FS.

Go to avsim search for texture.greynose.zip should be the first one listed. Let me know. you may
have to search the fs2004 textures and mods section.
 
That is so wierd that you got different textures than I did. I didn't actually install them this time just unzipped them and looked at them with DXTBmp.

I hope the version you get from your buddy has the wing markings fixed. It's a great repaint, but I couldn't live with those mis-marked wings.
