No it's not the same map Nigel, but for all the boring time consuming parts, I was able to lift them from my template of Mat's model, with a slight tweak here and there. All I have re-done is the camo, and the markings, I enjoy doing those bits, :biggrin-new: I could even lift them too if I wanted!
I have a lot of MTO schemes that I did for MAW, so these will now see the light of day, well at least the A4 schemes will.

Steve's done a great job with this model conversion, I've just received the V-pit and that is rather good too!:adoration:

As you know, the MAW model was never completed and won't see public release, which is a shame, but this one will more than make up for it!
 
Glad to hear it, John - the MAW one has been lurking on my hard drive for years and is one of the few German aircraft I really like!

One thing though - I've noticed most of the current crop of models seem to have tinted glass, and I'm far from convinced this is actually accurate. Very few aircraft of the time did, if any in fact. Here's a bit of real FW190 for you, just to prove the point:

Yes, i'm not sure how the idea that the glass was tinted came about. Perhaps is's just an artifact of early computer games that had trouble rendering transparency and specular reflections at the same time without some color added.
 
Yea I agree, I don't know if it can be altered on this model, but I will ask Steve? Off the top of my head in't there some Spitfires with a "goldish" tint, bloody awfull!

I wonder how much that canopy sold for? It's in good condition!:biggrin-new:
 
I've yet to see a canopy that can't have its colour changed, some of the old Zuyax Spitfires used to have that strong yellow tint. Well not anymore on my examples.
 
Ok more progress, skin has been refined, and these shots show off the bump mapping that can now be implemented with Ankors shader mod. I'm still playing around with it, and it won't be to everyone's taste, but it's very promising!
Cockpit glass has been improved, no more green tint.

The FW 190A is one of my favourite aeroplanes.
This one is beautiful.

Just a quick question: I know that the rear antenna attachment point changed a bit with the early models.
Is this the correct one for the 190A-4? I can't remember if it is or not.

Ok more skins are planned, but I'm pretty much where I want to be with the main texture, so I'll be moving on to the cockpit textures now!
