Luftwaffe 1940's

I've never paid too much attention to the German planes, but got interested again with the recent Bf110 discussion.
Something I've never had is a top rate FW190 for FS9.
Any pointers?

i don't own it... yet, but with christmas coming it made the shopping list... Wings of Power FW190A-(6?/8?) looks rather nice!

I think your out of luck freeware-wise, Groundcrew did a beta years back but i think that developed into thier FSX model but im not sure, there may be some CFS2 model that work, i'd probably go for Achiem's
model, i forget the site im afraid but they usually work fine out of the box in FS9, quite a few repaints also.
cheers ian

Also, Itosan did a a 190C prototype (high altitude supercharged version) which is at Flightsim & Simviation, along with an update - search for Kangaroo - and Lucariny did a 190A, which is just about acceptable, you'll find that at Flightsim.

blimey Andy, i remember that from when i first started flying CFS2, is it really ten years ago :mixedsmi: how time flys, prefer radial models though.
cheers ian

These would be nice if someone could port them to FS9\X

Classic Aces by simTECH Fight Design.ltd

I have these on a disc if anyone is interested, They're for CFS2? Note they are not pirated
i saved them to disc in the event they disappeared.

Know what you mean Ian, but there is just something purposeful about the Jumo-engined Focke Wulfs. I've got the various WoP sets, and while they are all nive I tend to fly the 190D and the Ta 152s a lot more than the others. Always thought it was a crying shame that Doug Champlin never flew his Fw 190D-13 after the restoration, but I guess he had his reasons - and nothing to stop me doing it in sim!!

Simtech packs,

Ken was part of the EFDT that made these along with Simtech IIRC.

They are getting harder to find. BTW the download links don't work on that site, I just tried to download the 190 and Spitfire and get this.

I'm edging to a top payware model, and that one does look pretty good...

The CFS2 versions although beautiful externally are lacking in the innards.
So they are going to make up my vast AI flotillas!
I'm not experienced in porting these to FS9 - is there a standard fix for the missing prop?

aaaaaaaaaaargh D's! *repeatedly poking self in eyes trying to temporarily blind ones self*

i always found the A variants much nicer looking myself, but great thing about simming... it's horses for courses! each sim is individual :jump:

I have the beta FW190-A that Groundcrew did. I dressed it up with a custom 2D panel and I'm using a soundset for the BMW Radial by Lawdog2360. It isn't anything close to the payware A2A Butcher Bird, but it does a right decent job, and I'm perfectly content to climb in and fly it.

Hagochu (Akemi Mizoguchi)'s Fw 190's have been converted to FS2004 the long nose D-9 can be found about 2/3 of the way down the page here

http://www.flightsim.com/file.php?cm=INDEXCALL&sPos=10

and the short nose collection here

Actually, for an 8 year old CFS2 port over, this is not bad at all, looks pretty smart actually. the vc is basic, maybe a way to sharpen the gauges and could use a new prop disk but is still fun to fly.

Don't know I'm affraid. Sorry 'bout the links, didn't test. If you go to the CFS2 library here, look under Campaigns, you'll find a campaign that Rami updated for the original EFDT versions. Not sure if they include aircraft, but knowing Rami I'm pretty sure he would have links to them in the docs if they aren't included. Knowing him, they'll be hyperlinks to. One click, baddabing.
