MAAM B-25 will not work correctly

I just tested my B25 in DX10.
I get not paints showing up no pilots, no exhaust flames, and no glass....
So with that in mind I would say it will have to be something associated with DX10 that prevents these from showing up......

Glass can be a problem in Dx10 even with the fixer but for the pilots have you moved the legacy slider towards aircraft? Hope you get over the flu soon.

Thank you,Roger.
I have a heavy flu and can really not think straight today.
I ask you all to excuse me for today, but i think it`s better when i go to bed.
Be back tomorrw.
Thank you.
Mike

Hope you're feeling better soon Mike!
Here she is in Dx10 with the Fixer slider right over to Aircraft. No see-through body, Pilots visible and flame effects working. The glass alpha is maybe too dark and I may have a play later. I can't get the gauges to show though although I have the new gau file in the panel folder. I wonder does anyone remember if the aircraft needs installing from the cd for some parts to function? I have the cd but I transferred all 7gig (lots of repaints) from my old FsX pc.

But i don`t want to go back to DX9.

Understand that, neither would i !

I did a quick investigation/test to get the glass textures working in DX10. I also noticed, for one thing, that closing the skipper's cockpit window wouldn't work in DX10 anymore. Steve's DX10 fixer ( the payware version) comes with 'DX10Toolbox'. Using that i got the window movement back plus the pilots textures. Still no (external) glass though. Suspect something to do with the alpha channel of the glass textures ( DX10Toolbox can't fix that....yet... )

Alpha channels in FSX/DX10 need to be less dark compared to FS9. With DXTBmp i changed the alpha channel for the glass textures with this result :

Not bad, éh ?....

So can be done, bummer is that the common problem of transparent textures dissapearing against clouds, buildings, etc can't be helped. For that to fix i need to create a native FSX version, and because the model is very old that'll mean start from scratch.... :icon_eek:

Hope you'll get well soon, Mike! (here's a dutch recipe to fix the flu, we call it 'Groc' , it's half a lemon, 3 spoons of honey, a good ooze of Cognac or Vieux, fill up with hot water. Drink it hot ! :very_drunk: )

cheers,
jan

No problem with the gauges here, Roger, neither in DX9 or DX10. ( airspeed acts a little strange on the ground) But i installed from my own source zip. Do you have version 7 of the B-25 CD ? You could also try the basic FSX compatibility update from the Maamsim site.

Re gauge files you should only have 'fsx_event_logger.gau' in your panel folder, 'maam_b25.dll' and 'maam_b25vc.gau' should be in your FSX/Gauges folder.

cheers,
jan

Hi guys, thanks for the good wishes.
Back from hell and bed----the last days weren`t funny at all, today i feel better but it is still not gone.
However i have to thank all,who helped to solve this DX10 issue.
In DX9 everything is fine.
My special thanks to Craig(trucker17),we shared lots of PM`s-----outstanding help,Craig!
Also many thanks to Jan(javis) for the replacement textures, they are working fine.
Glass and pilots are back, also the exhaust flames.
The last issue remaining is,that all other metallish paints are "shiny".
You can look fom outside into the airplane and see---for example--the landing gear.
Perhaps there will be a solution for this issue sometimes.
Mike

HI Mike,
As I mentioned earlier do you have the Fixer legacy slider fully over to the right (aircraft)? On my Dx10 the model is not at all transparent and you can't see inside.
