MAAM C-47D Luftwaffe repaint

Good news!

Flightsim.com's quick reaction force has replaced my corrupted upload.
The true 14+01 set is available now!

A big 'thank you!' to the library admins of flightsim!

Still contrited,
Markus.

"And now for something completely different..."

Well - not so different:

1407_1.jpg

The depicted C-47D "14+07" (C-47B-35-DK c/n 16446/33194) was delivered to
USAAF as Bu.-Nr. 44-76862, went to
RAF as Dakota IV KN572.

She saw Luftwaffe service in the tactical markings of
CA+012 (Regierungsstaffel),
XA+124 (Flugvermessungsstaffel) and
14+07 (Flugvermessungsstaffel).
The "white and blue" livery identifies her as a former VIP transport aircraft (said to be personal transport plane for General Josef Kammhuber, Inspekteur der Luftwaffe), the dayglow markings were applied when she later was used as a calibration aircraft for TACAN facilities.
She crashed on June 26th, 1976 near Landsberg during a checkflight after the elevator had to be replaced due to some hail damage. The crew was killed.

Up at flightsim and SOH.

Have fun!

Hi Markus,

once again, a superb looking repaint! Especially if you consider that the Maam-Sim DC-3 is one of the trickiest models when it comes to repaints :applause:

Greetings
Tim

Thank you, gents! :ernae:

@ Tim:
As a member of the "Goon Club", you know what you're talking about... :icon_lol:
But it's this trickyness that makes repainting this gal such a challenging and satisfying work again and again.
It's like in real life (and concerning women as well...):
"Anything that's easy to get isn't worth getting!" :bump:

Cheers,
Markus.
