This Aermacchi C.202 was flown by the Italian ace Tenente Giorgio Solaroli, Marquis of Briona of 74 a Squadriglia 23°Gruppo, 3°Stormo C.Y. Abu Haggag, August 1942. The aircraft was painted in the branched-pout mottles style as applied on the intermediate production Breda-built machines. The unit badge represented an angry wasp holding a dagger with the left leg and a boxing glove on the right one. This squadron carried individual codes on the tail fin, sometimes painted in a white triangle, like on this aircraft. Solaroli survived the war with 11 victories and died peacefully in 1996.
