Hi Racartron,
No, the C.202 hadn't landing lights.
:salute::salute::salute::salute:

What?.... No wonder ATC is screaming at me on my final approaches. "Your landing gear is NOT DOWN!!", they say. I keep telling them, "Yes it is, dangit!"

Racartron -- Those effects work pretty darn good with the Folgore, thanks for posting them and supplying the cfg.entries. I like leaving tyre marks all over the runway. :jump:

Fantastic

An aircraft built around its Virtual Cockpit...
Now that fits very nicely with my latest fad of TrackIR-friendly planes!

Beautifully modelled all round, you can tell by the feet

And I do love a whistly/growly beast, so responsive too

Thank you, and Bravissimo!

Nice work SteveB!! Never thought the Swiss flew the Folgore C.202. The paint looks superb on the plane though. Excellent brushwork as always.

The Swiss flew and evaluated most of the more common types of Axis and Allied aircraft, and even gave some of them back after 1945.

Interesting... I guess I'd better read up some more on that. The paintlooks great anyway, and I'll certainly fly those colours on my copy of the MC.202.

Its non-sense of course, but one of the comments about the Mc.202 here at the SOH made me do it.....

BTW Great paintkit Manuele, I will use it for some more serious business as well.......

Ummmm...I know that plane. It ran in Reno during the late forties. Rumour is that a US Army Airforce supply seargant shipped it home one bolt at a time.......or was it purchased from a Swiss supply seargant.....
.....ummm....

As already announced a more serious repaint. As the real aircraft was one of the 3rd series and the paint kit reflects an aircraft from mid-production series, the panel lines are not fully correct, especially in the wing area. The long antenna mast is correct as this was one of the first production aircraft which had this long mast. The profile was found in "Ali e colori -Ear.Macchi C.202".

Most credits for this repaints should go to Manuele who has made an excellent paintkit for this beautiful model.

71th Squadriglia,17th Gruppo,1st Stormo C.T., Rome-Ciampono Novermber 1941. This particular aircraft, still waiting for the tropical kit while lined up at Ciampino om 23 November 1941 to be passed in review by high ranking officers, was fitted with a tall readio mast. This new radio mast would be adopted as factory standard from November production. The propeller spinner displayed the customary red tip of 71 a squadrilia. Usual light blue serials and stencils.

(As you can see Hurricane91, I followed your link.)

Perhaps Manuele want's to include a similar scheme when he does the expansion package, therefore I have some doubts whether I should upload it. Especially as the repaint isn't completely correct for the model. I fully agree the MC.202 looks very nice in a dark livery, which is the main reason I did it.

But when you really want it, I can e-mail it to you. Just shoot your e-mail address to me in a PM and I will send you the repaint.

Cheers,
Huub

Nearly finished....

Flown by Capitano Ezio Viglione Borghese, Commanding Officer of 96 a Squadriglia (9 Gruppo 4 Stormo) Gela May 1942. This aircraft was one of the few with inversed tropical scheme produced by Aermacchie between February and April 1942.

Once finished it will be made available at the usual places.
