Manfred's Douglas C-47 Reloaded (Beta)

Oh.. you're part of the team working it? :)

Sorry for the noob questions, I just don't know much about the fellas in this forum.

That's the one being worked on here or a different dc-3?

All the shots here are for the Manfred Jahn DAK. We're working on the last pre-release tweaks on the cockpit and skins. The C-117 will release immediately before the DAK so you guys will get both pretty much at the same time. I'm making a few tiny adjustments in the spec and spec/alphas right now.
The cockpit has been re-arranged a bit but will still be the modern cockpit for the first release. That's about it for now. Stay tuned.

I went back in the thread... I'm amazed by what you guys have achieved.. it's just incredible.. really. My only grime is that I found out about it only now.

These kind of projects sometimes fall under the radar, which they definitely shouldn't! :)

PS, I forgot to ask earlier.. is this scratch made or a total upgrade from an older model?

Revised from Manfreds earlier C-47 with many improvements. Externally I've reworked all of the bump maps, alphas and specs to bring the skin to life. The rivets and stressed metal have received a lot of attention.

TuFun has put a huge effort into the sound file. This sound file absolutely demands a good sound system. It's awesome.

Don't forget the C-117. It's received the same work over.

And the list continues , that is looking smooth JK :cool:<input id="gwProxy" type="hidden"><input jscode="leoInternalChangeDone()" onclick="if(typeof(jsCall)=='function'){jsCall();}else{setTimeout('jsCall()',500);}" id="jsProxy" type="hidden">

The present C-47, C-117 and DC-3 are great planes. Appears the V2's will be like 'double chocolate frosting on the cake'. :applause:
Waiting patiently. Hope to paint a Southern Airlines circa late fifties early sixties.

C-47 Sounds

You know TuFun, after seeing your latest video I probably won't be doing much flying of MJ's great C-47 but just starting and stopping the engines. Thanks for the great work. The techniques surely could be used on several other aircraft. The realism is fantastic.

Wonderful stuff. Surely this is one of the most eagerly anticipated freeware aircraft ever. Of course, only release it when its ready, guys... but make it ready SOOOOOOOOOOON !!!!!

would be cool if you guys added the option for people to use real engine with this thing.. as some of us love the extra fun that brings like accusim dose..

will say this with real engine and with accu feel will be one nice freeware plane thats for sure.

Well it will have the same realistic engine modelling and systems as the C117... so its practically the real engine thing already...
