MASH 4077 scenery

Lots of fun! Though I still havent found the Battalion Aid Station...gotta be looking in the wrong places!
Really great screen shots.

Take a heading of 310 degrees and fly for a little while until you start seeing a road running perpendicular to you. Start looking for the RED CROSSES
on the ground. It will be either to your left or right just on the other side of the first road. If you reach a second road running parrallel with the first, you went too far.

Or you can do what I did to find it without any GPS help. I started at the aid station and flew on a heading of 130 degrees until I found the 4077th.
I did that a couple times making note of the terrain, etc. Then I was able to fly from the 4077th back to the aid station. I'm having a lot of fun with this scenery. The actual chopper pilots did pretty much the same thing. They flew mostly by compass heading, time, and landmarks.

Take a heading of 310 until you come to those burned out tanks and then take a left for a couple clicks.

Thank you...I found it! Two problems. Yes, I was looking in the wrong place (was looking much further away from the 4077th), and I had deleted the red x scenery items because it was causing a crash anytime I tried to lift off or land on them.

Got it now though!

Sorry about the RED CROSSES causing crashes but, it looks like your deleting them got rid of that problem. Aid stations were right at the front line almost and the MASH units were not but a few miles behind them. I seriouslly doubt that there were any roads like those two during the conflict. Unfortunately, I dont' know how to get rid of them.

I'm glad you got it all sorted out and are enjoying the sceneries.

@trucker17 re. Battle Circus/Mash 66

found a movie trailer on youtube:

As one reviewer of the remastered movie said:

If this shower scene was not a direct influence on Robert Altman’s MASH, I will eat my copy of this DVD.

Talk about having a hard time finding the aid station from the 4077th....wonder how these two guys got the 4077th confused with Fort Rucker, Alabama.
Somebody is going to have a lot of explaining to do.

Really just wanted to show off my newest purchase. I had this little helicopter installed on my computer last year that decided to crash and burn.
Anyway today is 10% off day at PCAviator and the price has dropped over 50 per cent from what I originally paid for it. I found the TH-55 repaint over at Hovercontrol.

Sorry to dredge this old thread up, but I recently went back to this scenery to fly Bell 47s around, and noticed that all of the static scenery jeeps are missing their wheels.

Tried to refresh scenery config, no joy. Tried to re install the scenery to the library, didnt fix it. Removed folders and added back in from download that is confirmed to have worked in the past, still wont work.

This worked perfectly back in 2013 when I installed it first, so this problem has me stumped.

Hi piperarcherpilot. That's my scenery. The problem is not in the scenery per se. That scenery object is called from your add on scenery/static scenery objects folder. It appears as the tire texture is missing. I would expect that the tire texture is also missing from any other add on scenery that has that jeep in it. It is JeepM151 which is in one of your add on scenery libraries. At least it was there back in 2013.

Maybe someone else who sees this thread knows which texture it is and will be willing to send a copy along to you. I would be happy to do that myself if I had a clue as to which one it was.

Thank you for your help, and thank you for the very cool scenery! I tried a few other things and found that if I moved the Battalion Aid station to a higher priority than the Mash 4077 in the scenery library, the wheels showed up. Strange, but it seems to be working now.

I'm glad that you found a solution and thank you for the nice compliment on the project. It makes some sense as that same jeep is also in the Battalion Aide Station. I've used it in a lot of my military projects.
