We both agreed that the "right" place was Korea.
RD
I must say that even though I agree with Randy that the rightful place for the MASH scenery
is in Korea, being an old movie guy I couldn't resist putting RD, MCD, and Gdavis's hard work to use to assemble a "Malibu Mash".
My basic SoCal scenery is BlueSky photoscenery so I did a little interpolation of the terrain down near the creek bed and the hand drawn map and tried to place the 4077 in a logical position. Even though I have hiked the actual location, I have no idea if this is even correct. It is "notional" as they say.
As these things go, I did become obsessed with a few small (some would say unimportant) details. Since it's a virtual world anyway I like to imbed a little story and character in it.
The first shot is the default FSX scenery but with a terrain polygon with Flatten Mask Class Map Exclude Autogen properties. Pretty ugly but it clearly shows the camp object layout well. From a security standpoint I feel a little vulnerable here so a perimeter fence may be in order.

This one shows the camp with the BlueSky photoscenery and mesh. I tried to some extent to utilize visible road or path tracks. It's not very visible here but there is an upper and low helipad.

This one shows the camp with the default FSX land texture showing through. (Is that what they mean by Land Class?) Not terribly realistic. Reminds of a camo jacket pattern I have hanging in my closet.

Anyway thanks again to all the creative talents involved in MASH and Kimpo. If anyone is interested in my ADEX for Malibu MASH 4077 just PM me.
