Meet my silver metalic lady.

I had a quick test.
As far as the auto pilot gauge shows, the speed is in the ballpark.
All tests are engaged with military power.
No wind. Clear sky.

I don't have B-17G model handy. So that I only can have a theoretical comparision here.
According to the Wikipedia, B-17G flys maximum 287 mph at 2500ft.
So that Ki-87 should be able to catch up with B-17G in all the flight envelope.
Which B-17G did you use?

Cheers

Daisuke

Most CSF2 aircraft work pretty well in FS9, the airfile sometimes needs a bit of tweaking, but other than that, try pluggin it in.

I would be delighted to see your aircraft in FS9 and FSX as well as CFS2.
Is there a Ki-87 for FS9?

Hi Hurricane.

As WhiteHawk says it highly probably runs fine in FS9 since it's compiled
with MakeMDL for FS9. I'm afraid further compatibility with FSX is not
in my knowledge at all.

Well, I'm guessing you are not mentioning compatiblity issue only.
You are more likely concerned that if there is FS9/FSX featured model too, right?

As I write earlier in this thread, FS9/FSX allow to have more eye-candies.
From the artistic point of view, I aware of it's the way to go.
But, in the mean time, I neither have a veriation for FS9 nor FSX.
Specifically FSX, the work flow is completely different and lots more work
is neccesary as I hard of so far. I need another learning curve which
is, I would say, masochistically steep!

Cheers

Thank you Whitehawk. I was delighted to learn this because of the many interesting CFS2 aircraft.
I have not flown the Ki-87 yet (spring is a busy time for me) but have some of Daisuke's planes. I was very excited to see the P1Y1.

Daisuke, thank you for responding. Yes, I have ported many FS9 aircraft to FSX and do not object to putting out some effort to make them work. There are very few Japanese aircraft of the 1940s era in FSX. Tim Conrad is working an a J7W1 which should be very nice.
When the people here at SOH linked me to your site, I became very excited to see the aircraft you have produced. As I stated earlier, the P1Y is wonderful and a delight to fly.

Hi Hurricane.

Is this screenshot taken in FS2004?
The metal part looks brighter than that of in CFS2.
Closer to what I think it shoud be.
If only a reflection map applied, it would look even closer.
Attractive platform from the point of view of artistic expression.

Yes it is FS2004. The Ki-87 certainly looks good. To my eye,the aluminum surfaces of the aircraft appear as it would after several hours of test flights were logged, slightly weathered but well maintained.
I appreciate the accuracy of your aircraft and your attention to details. You are a gifted artist.

Best regards,
John

The Ki-87 is a real beast, comparable in size, weight and power to the big American 3 ....namely the P-47D, F6F-5 and the F4U-1.

Unlike the F6F and the F4U (mid-altitude fighters), this baby is made to fight high up, just like the P-47. And like the P-47 this is where it performs best. If it had been mass-produced (and it performed as per specs), it would have been a real threat to the B-29, and it's escorts.

In fact I would go so far as to say that, comparing the specs for the Ki-87 and the A7M Reppu, the Ki-87 was the superior fighter. It was faster, had the better climb rate, and better altitude performance. It only lost out in turn rates. But as American (and German) fighters had shown, turn rates wer arguably the least desirable factor in combat.

..............beautiful model, Arigato DAISUKE:salute:

...............with those specs and 2x 30mm cannon and 2x 20mm cannon armament the allies would have been in for gruelling time if the projected 500 planes had been made

..............outstanding:jump:
