MiG-21F13 released

I concur, the Stabilator trim needs a bit of up setting before takeoff roll but not too much. Right around unstick speed, the nose will become light and with slight aft stick pressure start to ease off. After that a steady bit of back pressure and hold will complete the rotation with the mains easing off the runway. The Stabilator effectiveness in flight may be a bit low but I wouldn't go overboard on adding too much effectiveness to the settings.

Also, it was pointed out to me that the model is too fast in a straight line at almost any altitude. Myself and a couple of others got the Mig up to 1700 Kias at 10,000 ft asl. It isn't a trust problem, it is a drag problem. In the config I changed the drag scalars as follows:

parasite_drag_scalar=0.650
induced_drag_scalar=1.000

After that, the Mig behaves more normally in it's top speed at sea level(or close to sea level) speed as well as high altitude mach numbers.

One last thing, Yago, thanks for the IAF paint. Simply cracking detail and realism! :ernae:

GMax Academy Mig-21Bis is in my mind more realistic and it is possible to fly it.

Keep in mind that there's a difference between the early F-13 and the bis.

The older version is said to be more agile, since lighter, than its successor.

Would somebody please do paintkit for this :jump:

Amen to that...........!! Is there any possibility that the original artist could put out a layered paint kit??

Well, no layered paintkit here, but I've got leftover blanks from that LSK repaint.

I'd rather like to see Yago do a paintkit, since his Photoshop skills are far superior to mine, but in case he doesn't want to do it, I'd throw my blanks on the server without hesitation.

Thanks for that. The rocket-like behaviour was bugging me a bit as well although it was slightly cool to kick in the burner and just go fasterandfasterandfasterandfasterandfaster. :icon_lol:

Can I have those blanks, pretty please? :wiggle:

I was working on some for myself but if someone's already invented the wheel, why re-invent it? :icon_lol:

Alright, both the blanks and the repaint were uploaded to SOH and Flightsim.

Happy painting/flying. :D

OHH WOW! that pic is amaising, must know where that base is if it not a photoshop job and love that paint I recognise the emblem but forgot what country it is from, got to be South American or African, probably South American tho, It could be Brazil or Equador or those type of countries?? I think they have that star type emblem or at least those colours I'm working off Football (soccer)strips for colours here lol. This is really bugging as to where its from now!! HOWEVER I've never seen weathering so realistically done before its unreal to me..WE PAY FOR WORSE WHY!!! Plus look at the detail is it or is it not bird crap on the rudder I mean WOW lol !
I've been rummaging around looking for my old Alphasim Mig 23 Flogger, but tracking down those old photoreal repaints is hard couldn't find any, but stumbled on this beauty one of yours of the old CS Mig 21UM from a few years ago I think Yago mate, just found it today but your shots make mine look really bad mate your skills are mind bending I tell all my mates about what happens here but they just don't get what were about I hate how its only a select few who can fly!

I also love the new GDR repaint really good! This jet is probs my favourite for flying now sod that Tomcat lool, well for now at least!!

The RSKANON loadout tool is a really good feature too, I don't know why but I always seem to configure this Jet for a ground attack sortie the opposite to what she was designed for don't know why I always drop that centre tank after take off too (thats why in some shots you see mine without one!) Remember in the old days guys these were under strickt radar control from the ground control operators (Big mistake THANK YOU!!) but this is why if you've ever tried to go far from base in full burner you will run out of fuel fast!! and remember unless I'm wrong but no version ever had IFR did it??

Yes,it sounded a bit abrupt.Sry.Let me explain.It just doesn,t make much sense to duplicate shots and waste page space.Plus it looks particulary bad when the shot is big.
I would also like to have the shot as my presentation, If you repost, it doesnt feel like that anymore. Does it make any sense ?
This is Mig21 F not the Lancer. Gmax Academy Mig21 looks more like a Lancer.Still waiting for the VC on it.
