Mig-3

I'm looking for a decent Mig-3.
There are a couple CFS2 planes, & Captain Kurt's Mig-3 seems to be decent.
Any idea if it will fly in FS2004 without prop issues?

I had a look through my archive and I have this Mig 3 for FS2002 by Gerald Lindell:
Mig 3 Lindell 1.jpg
Mig 3 Lindell 2.jpg
Mig 3 Lindell 3.jpg

It does have the propeller issue in FS2004 (prop no-show ) apart from that it is not bad, it does not have a steering rear wheel so you have to use differential braking when taxiing (but that can be easily altered in the aircraft.cfg file). The panel is also OK, canopy opens with the spoiler key.

SkyUnlimited had published a payware Mig-3 for FS2004 and CFS3, sold via the Flight1 wrapper: https://web.archive.org/web/20080827210518/http://www.skyunlimited.net/mig3_fs2004.htm https://web.archive.org/web/20120510032550/http://www.skyunlimited.net/mig3_cfs3.htm

Now as of Nov. 2024, per https://sim-outhouse.org/sohforums/threads/sky-unlimited-freeware.163820/ SkyUnlimited Mig-3 for CFS3 is freeware alongside other SkyUnlimited CFS3 releases like the Hurricanes and Mustangs and all of which have been uploaded here to the SOH Warbirds library; SkyUnlimited Mig-3 for FS2004 is however, still payware alongwith the other SkyUnlimited FS2004/X releases, unless noted otherwise

cheers!

I can be mistaking but I think that is the complete list.

The old CFS2 model by the Lindell brothers and team, which doesn't display correctly in FS2004.
The payware FS2004 model by SkyUnlimited, which isn't available anymore when I correct.
and the new CFS2 model by Captain Kurt.

As I don't have the SkyUnlimited model, I was very pleased to see the CFS2 model by Captain Kurt. It is of course a CFS2 so there is no clickable VC. But the VC is simple but decent and the instruments are well readable. The fligtmodel could have been done for FS2004 as it flies without any problem. The model doesn't even have the "heavy nose" which you see often with CFS2 models in FS2004.

So I can recommend Captain Kurt's model. UncleTgt did 4 liveries for the model. Yet I wanted a bit darker and more used textures, so I did two additional liveries.

As usual everthing is available in our library. So give it a try, as the price is very reasonable.

The link from wolfebee89 works well for me, including the download.
But okay, unfortunately the F1 activation doesn't work anymore. Got my hopes up too soon.

Ah, you found out yourself as well. Flight1 switched from the wrapper to the Flight1 agent. So the whole original activation system is gone.

Yippeee...
Having a scrounge through my old library files, I had forgotten that I had the SkyUnlimited Mig-3!!
:wiggle:
Happy you. So now you can compare the 3 models for us :biggrin-new:

BTW the sounds of Captain Kurt's Mig are aliased to the P38 in CFS2. I aliased the sounds to the Macchi MC.202 by Manuele Villa, which has great sounds.

Cheers,
Huub

Aliasing to the P-38 makes some sense, apart from it being a twin. All of the reproductions flying use the V-1710 in some form or another, so a decent early Mustang/Warhawk soundset would do the job.

It makes sense, but sadly I don't have the default CFS2 P38 installed in my FS9 install ;) .
