Hi All!
First, thanks to Frank for the upload, encouragement and support all over the years!

Thank's to all for the Pics and Feedbacks !!!
I was really wondering how this Bird will run on your Systems and expected acutally exactly what until now came out.
I got now Feedbacks from allmost no frames up to 80FPS. Please continue giving me feedback, this will help me a lot to sort out all the problems!

I've put quit a lot of animations to the Aircraft like the removable Chute, Pilot, animated Remove befor Flight Flags (if you go close) and also a animated Sidewinder wich shows up in VC and outside View!
Here how it works:

Befor you push the Shooter Button, be shure to have also a good view out of the Cockpit ;)
More Manual Parts are coming later....

FSX users: disable the two .GAU gauges in the panel folder if you want to prevent FSX to crash upon aircraft selection.
The canopy is opaque instead of transparent, but that's the usual SP2 bug. I have edited the alpha channel of a texture and could solve the issue.
I'm now testing the plane.

Isra, I suppose you're not interested in feedback from FSX users ?
I imagine that since I had to disable some gauges, my testing conditions are certainly irrelevant to your bug investigations.

Hi!
I moved the Plane also into FSX, but as I see, there would be a lot to change! Feedbacks are fine, but can't promise anything.

Well, in that case I'll provide you a list of the textures I had to modify (and how I modified them) when I will have completed the conversion of the airplane.
I am still in the process of identifying the related textures.
Then will come the fine tuning, so that they do not get completely transparent, but still show a little bit what they are supposed to show.

From a functionnal point of view, appart from those sound GAU files, so far the only problem I've seen is the afterburner that turns on with the lights, but since it's a classic afterburner system, this is easilly fixable.

Thanks for that excellent plane anyway. And thanks for using XML gauges that make this plane easier to convert to FSX :) :ernae:

Okay, I've said that I had a very nice "slideshow" :kilroy: But that is the truth. But... I love your work. For my oppinion one of the best Mirages ever build as freeware (maybe the best?) :salute: The cockpit is GREAT !!!

Maybe it will work on my rig when it's finished ;-)

Regards
Andi

Oh .. I have a really "stoneage" PC ... A Celleron 2.4 with 1 Gb Ram and an old but good ATI Saphyre Radeon 9800. So don't give to much to my comment :kilroy:

@ Daube: Thanks, I am looking forward to your edit's !!!

@ Bruchpilot! Thats really a Stonage System hehe! In german I would say, kauf dir einen neuen PC! Gruss nach Braunschweig :)

I found out wich Gauges take a lot of frames, it is really unbelivable for me, since this was made from a Excellen Designer!

Try this out:
Disable in the Panel.cfg the follow Lines!

mirage_V3\Soundserver!PlaySound, 78,230,10,10,Miro_S 74 19
Mirage_V3\SoundServer_99_mute!PlaySound, 78,230,10,10,Tiger_S 47 40

It disables all the Sounds from the Panel :(

what also helps is to disable the Mirrors in the 2D Panel!
Mirage_V3\Mirage_Mirror!Mirage_Mirror_R, 617,0,247,211
Mirage_V3\Mirage_Mirror!Mirage_Mirror_L, 170,0,247,211

Question:
Can anyone confirm that this saves some Framerates?

Regards, Isra

I can at least confirm that with the sound gauges disabled, the plane is still flyable in FSX, which means that the impact is already reduced.
(As you may know, complex FS9 aircrafts have a huge impact on the performance of FSX)

I have just disabled the mirrors and it seems to me that the flight was again a little more smooth.

Just one remarks concerning the modelisation of the virtual cockpit: I'm getting a problem with the transparent textures for some of your gauges/levers/buttons.
When a light (cockpit light or even the afterburner "light") is ON, a strange artifact appears, as you can see in the screenshot below. This is typical to FSX and I'm pretty sure it doesn't happen in FS9.
The reason I say it here is because there is ONE button that is not concerned by the problem: the button for the symbols brightness gauge. This one displays perfect, no matter what happens.

I don't know what you did different for it, I checked the textures and the coding of the gauges, but could not really understand what was causing this "correctness".
So I suspect the solution is in the way the "gauge display areas" are defined in the virtual cockpit. Perhaps the zone for this button does not have the same properties as the other zones ? If you could correct that, the convertion to FSX would definitely be possible.
Almost all of the gauges are concerned by the problem, including the various warning lights and even the levers for the canopy opening and the parachute.

Hi!
Thanks for the News! I think it's all about Backgrounds in 0,0,0 what makes troubles!
But first I have to contact some Folks to make sure that this really causes the problems.

I'm on an workaround for the Soundserver Problem...

Since I never really worked with FSX...all that Stuff is pretty new for me,
thanks again !

Thanks for sharing this beautiful model. I had seen it several times at the lfightsim weekend and had been hoping for its release ever since!

Isra the sounds and mirrors do have quite an effect (on my system):
FPS 2D/VC/Spot
7.5/25/32 Sounds only disabled
12/14/16 Mirrors only disabled
30/25/32 Sounds + Mirrors disabled

Pity about the mirrors as it is a really cool effect.
The sound files cause stutters too, the actual FPS fluctuate quite wildly.

Hello Isra

from my initial Flight test of yesterday with exactly the same settings parameters
I have disable the lines as recommended by your message presented upward.

Yesterday initial flight game me the following FPS readings :

Cockpit 6,5
VC 8,3
Tower 11,2
Spot 12,9

Today's flight with the 4 lines disabled gave me the following FPS readings :

Cockpit 9,3
VC 12,8
Tower 16,6
Spot 15,5

Like yesterday my FS9 FPS settings was locked at 20 !

Its better !

Thanks for the tip !

Hi,

Tests results on this machine:

CPU E8500 3.16 Ghz
GPU ATI 4850 512 MB
2 GB RAM

FPS fixed at 36 (pratically all sliders at right and full quality set for VC)
Aera: Mauritius with Koorbi clouds theme (HD 2 clouds medium)
Visibility 40 Miles and some FSUIPC weather tweaks
Fsgenesis meshes
Zinertek Ultimate water

Sample of the environement used for test:(video Aerialfoundry FA-18)
http://www.4shared.com/video/UBF_s4Ya/Aerial-FA18.html

With original panel.cfg

2D 28-30
3D 22-25
External (spotview) 30-32

With panel.cfg modified

2D 35.8
3D 30-32
External 34-35

So to speak .. no problems

What kill me is I'm not able to have afterburner effect working .......

Hello !
Thanks for the Feedbacks so fare :)
I am testing my workaround solution to get the Cockpitsounds back....!

Why is the Afterburner not working? You have to aktivate it with shift F4. It does not come automatically, the same in real Aircrafts.

Regards Isra

Hey, not bad your frames :)
In real the Mirage takes with AB 300 Liters in a Minute on low level flight, that means you would be out of Fuel after 6 and a half minute hehe!

Hi,
This is a video of the Mirage IIIS...!

We should all agree to test this bird in Switzerland - say flying out of Samedan - otherwise the moving map does not display.
Obviously this will affect performance in one way or another.

Very very GREAT model!

But, unfortunately, I still do not know to revive the NAV lights and the afterburner
