Modifying Stock Airports

I posted this over at FSDeveloper.com three days ago and have had no reply. Maybe I placed it in the wrong forum. Anyhow, I need to get going; perhaps someone here has an answer?

WHAT I WANT TO DO:
Relocate a stock airport to its correct geographic position.

WHAT I HAVE SO FAR DONE
The airport has been positioned properly.

WHERE I AM "STUCK"
1. I need to exclude Ultimate Terrain landclass which exists at the new location. I have tried Exclude Builder with no effect.
2. How do I generate the "grass patch" which usually surrounds airports?

I am using AFCAD

Your help will be appreciated.

Referred to in SBuilderX as an "Airport Boundary", it's simply a poly drawn to the shape you want and then tagged as an airport boundary that will also exclude and remove any autogen. I haven't done anything with SBuilder (FS9), but I would assume it works the same way.:salute:

Thanks, Clarke. That tutorial looks to be exactly what I need. (The one I found when I searched at MAIW was something by Opa which I already had).

....and Falcon, the (above cited) tute seems to focus narrowly on the airport boundary, so the SB learning curve may not be too bad.

Thanks to both of you! :salute: :salute:

Falcon et al -- I think you may be interested in a reply I received from a posting at the Ultimate Terrain support forum:

"Is there any special technique for applying an exclude to UT land class? I have used Exclude Builder on UT USA without effect."

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

"There is no such thing as excludes for land class. What you do instead is create your own land class and make sure it resides higher in the FS Scenery Library than the land class you want to replace.

Things like Exclude Builder exclude scenery objects."
