MS FLIGHT Updated Site!

Look as an end user, if it's good and an improvement for all serious simmers were all going to use it, if it's not then it's only going to be for the minority, it's a gamble as they say, it's apparently for everyone from the new user to the pro simmer, but for me personally if it gets good reviews and is a good sim experience them I'm in, as they say we must always move forwards never back and theres a lot of people moving back these days with more modern FSX releases! :ernae:

I'll also wait and see. However, If I can't make a plane and add it to the sim, on my own without needing any one else, I will not buy and just stick with FSX. Or X-Plane, if the eyecandy ever rivals MS.

Or FlightGear!

This just jerks my chain!

Microsoft has never forced me to buy and install one of their operating systems, I've got MS Live installed on one of my systems and it doesn't force me to play online or spy on me and to top it all off, I bet no one shows up at my house and holds a gun to my head and forces me to buy "Flight".

I guess I just don't live right. CURSE YOU MICROSOFT!

just an thought, so saying its gonna be to arcadie ... what would you call the ctrl+e start in all the flight sim *** to date? the flying tooltips? the big green squares in the sky?

yup, those features have deffenitly made fs8/FS9/FSX into a mass population arcade game :bump:

Well, I've read in several places that Flight would be using FSX engine, so it's not surprising those two sims look similar, especially at such an early stage for Flight.
I did notice the new shadow effect though. Hopefully in this sim, we'll finally get able to see the shadow of the plane on non-horizontal surfaces :)

"its going to be a game"

"they're dumbing it down for gamers"

"they're blocking out the 3rd party modelers"

"they're making it for xbox only"

the only thing we know for sure so far is that Microsoft is making a new software program and they have a working title for it called.... 'Flight'

I love the "wait and see" mentality that includes rampant speculation

YEAH...Like all most all PC games...there port overs .

Just remember that the need for physics is just a theory.. You really only need to get the plane going fast and pull back on the stick....
What an insult to aviation..

One main factor I think they should work on is the blocky runway lettering, it disturbs me everytime I use a default airport.

The Stearman looks pretty nice though...!

In my opinion it´s not necessarily in insult to aviation, as it practically is just the way they say in a simple aircraft, line up, throttle forward, wait for speed and lift it off the runway. If it is a situation for a beginner, they maybe want it to be a feel of success to get it airborne. The theory can come later on, as it IS important, too. They just shouldn´t forget it.

Well, it’s got me. Pre-rendered or not, it seems a fair bet that we can expect that Stearman as part of the equation. US Navy paint, and a female voice-over – just coincidence? The Stearman was the aircraft that allowed women into military aviation and by one account, 70% of American pilots in WWII were trained – in Stearmans – by female instructors. Experience the magic of flight (not a simulation of it), from a new perspective; everyone invitedincluding old hands. And Windows Live.

At the very least: back-to-basics, simple aircraft and great visuals, with an emphasis on multi-crew and instructor/student scenarios.

You heard it here first.

Told you

I liked the style of the video in terms of background narration and music.

Nothing more apart from that. FSX's engine, an empty airport and again just a flying rust bucket...*Yawn*

Microsoft Flight has its own section in the Forum. I am just wondering how this thread managed to live so long in the FSX section?

Regards, Mike Mann

This might be overly obvious but I'll mention it anyway. :)

When you start up FSX and get to the main menu, The "Home" page tab takes you to a direct link for the new "Flight" videos and some other "Flight" info tabs.
