SOH-CM-2026
Well, my number came up for MSFS 2024's "Trash your System" lottery. Yesterday, I started MSFS 2024 and was greeted with, HI John, we know you. Let's set up your MSFS 2024. Every single thing was back to default, including all the stupid POIs floating in the air..

Now, I don't use many MSFS binding, preferring to use Axis&Ohs instead. So I deleted them. Well, the reset reapplied all the damn bindings and settings I had deleted, one at a time. Now, I will have to go back and redelete everything. Anyone know of a mass delete? You know like wipe MSFS's bindings clean in one stroke. Sorta like the Queen of Hearts in Alice in Wonderland...OFF with their heads!

Sorry that happened. I had it happen a number of times under 2020, but luckily not under 2024 yet.

If you see it happen, you MIGHT be able to save things by:
1) Kill, do not quit, MSFS (ctrl-alt-esc, then kill the flight simulator app)
2) Restart your system
3) Reload the sim. It MIGHT successfully get your cloud save next time.

I would suggest backing up your controller profiles, to save having to redo those if you lose your cloud data:
Go into Settings > Controls, use the gear icon on each device profile, and Export the profile XMLs

For ultimate safety, you can back up the entire cloud sync local copy. The wgs folder is here: %LOCALAPPDATA%\Packages\Microsoft.Limitless_8wekyb3d8bbwe\SystemAppData

You can back up the wgs folder somewhere safe, and then restore it if you lose all settings. To restore it, you just put your copied wgs folder back where in the SystemAppData folder above. You may need to turn off cloud sync first to keep the backup from being overwritten by bad cloud data.

Isn't the cloud fun?
