Got solid GCSE's through tommorow to next thursday. I've put maximum revision into them, but I still nervous as hell. History kicks off tommorow with League of Nations etc... :frown:
Gotta get some A's...
lol as if!

Well, a ton of success for you then!

Gee, it seems like ages ago that I wrote my finals.
Nowadays, I look back and smile to those four written exams back then (German, Maths, English, French)...and consider the seven ones I've got coming up this semester at uni. xP

Go for it, I know you,ll get through with flying colors.

Indeed, go for it- you'll be fine. GCSE (and A-Level) History is a great subject. Just remember to read the question thoroughly! If I could have a penny for every line I wrote needlessly because I didn't read the question properly, I'd be a millionaire.

Best
Dan.

Good luck for you than!

Even seems some miles away from me, too Bjoern, even as it´s only 2 years ago (Done Math, Social/Economic studies, English and Geography). But have just done theoretical exam for first part of my apprenticeship for truck mechatronic... Am very interested how the practical part will work in 4 weeks...

Rowdy...tips from a grizzled veteran of the English education system, boarding school, 'O' and 'A' levels etc

Revision tip: Night before an exam, read through all your notes and course-work twice without trying to remember, then put them away and go out for a walk. Seriously, if you don't worry about committing facts to memory, and just read through everything thoroughly, you will be astonished how much you retain the next day.

Come the exam, do the easy questions first; that'll get your cerebral juices flowing and make it easier to tackle the harder ones. Having completed some questions also raises you morale and enthusiasm

And attempt every question, even if all you write is 'The answer to this question is...' . You'll get marks for writing something, but none at all for a blank page.

All the best, matey !

I feel for you - mine are long behind me (like 35 years) but my daughter is going through it now. Even with coursework counting towards the exam, I can see the pressure she's under.
All the best, I hope your hard work pays off :ernae: (it's OK, it's only coke..)

Good luck. If it helps, exams do come to an end eventually. And it feels good. In the meantime, work hard, do your best, and you can enjoy the end when you get there :)

all the best rowdy, look on the bright side you cant do any worse than me! (C was my highest grade in anything and i only got 1 of em :monkies:)

Anyways, good Luck Rowdy, you can't do any worse than me and that dumb*ss ....^(That one just above me) :icon_lol:

Seriously though Rowdy, I can tell yer a smart lad, you'll do fine buddy! :salute:
Of course he's a smart lad ........ he hangs out in SOH! :wavey:

Errr....on second thoughts that may not be the finest example of 'smarts' I could come up with.

Thanks guys,

Did History this morning: it is very unclear presently how one was actually done..

I guess result's day will be the day of reckoning for me...:icon_eek:

Out of curiosity how long was your exam?

The AS and A2 papers were a killer sometimes.. I remember sitting them 3 hours at a time. English was like that also.

Best
Dan.

Waiting is horrible. I remember waiting for results from preliminary exams. About five of us were together in an office when a faculty member showed up to share results. Even the extra half minute waiting for the results of the others increased tension.

Earlier in my life the history of civilization professor used to often repeat "This too shall pass." Mostly we wanted to hear "we too will pass."
