  • IMPORTANT INFORMATION - ALL MEMBERS PLEASE READ

Due to an increase in the number of new members who are trying to systematically download our entire Resource Library (one new member yesterday tried to download 3,000+ files AT ONCE!) we are being forced to implement some changes regarding who can download what, how many files at a time and at what speed. As the forums and Resource Library share the same bandwidth when the Library gets overloaded with demand like that the forums fall over, as we have all seen recently. It's sad that greed has forced our hand in this way but we must do something for the benefit of all our legitimate members (many of whom paid money for the upkeep of the site) and to prevent the files stored here being used for nefarious purposes. Many of our uploads have specific conditions tied to them that forbid uploading to any other site or deny uploading to any site that has a 'paywall' (i.e. a pay to download policy). Due to the number of mass download attempts recently we can only assume that somebody, somewhere, is attempting to stock up a new file library with our files and we owe it to our up-loaders to protect their files and intellectual property especially as many (like my own LDR Development projects) are made available at SOH only and are specified as such in the 'read me' files.

The forums and Resource Library will be taken offline as of 13:00 EDT with the forums coming back online shortly after without the resources library while we work on setting up permissions on the new Library module.

We hope our members understand why we need to do this and will bear with us while we implement the changes.

    Thanks in anticipation, SOH ADMINISTRATION

Downloads are now active. You may proceed with downloading as desired

The download limits are a work in progress. Some settings are likely to need tweaking in the coming days.

Nemeth Designs Ka-32A RELEASED

Let me know if you're able to start the engines with version 1.04 for FSX.

I had no problem with the first couple of versions, and decided to skip 1.02 and 1.03. I wasn't able to find the updater in my purchases on the Nemeth site, so I ended up with a full uninstall/reinstall only to not be able to start the machine. I went back to version 1.01, only later to find the updater (under the product page) and try again with the same results. So back to 1.01. :dizzy:

Hello WH,

I did manage to start the APU and both engines with v1.04 this morning.
I noticed the following issues:
- still no vc click sounds, but I discovered that the sound gauge is a lua script (that fsx can’t read!)
- the front left wheel castors as expected while taxiing, but is struck at neutral position if turning without forward movement

Is it the same for you WH?

Otherwise, most of my feedback was taken into account! Well done ND.

Incoming Cold and Dark Gauge for the ND Ka-32

Hello!

I am pretty much done with writing a gauge that sets all systems, switches and knobs to the cold and dark status as described in the checklist.
The C&D status is activated when the top collective push button is depressed.

I'll pack it with another gauge that fixes the lack of cockpit sounds in the FSX version of the Ka-32. This is a simple rewriting of the ND lua script into a XML gauge so that sounds can be triggered by Doug Dawson’s gauge. Since the ND script makes use of default P3D sounds that are not available in FSX, they are replaced by sounds used in Cockpit Sounds addons published by Daniel Gauthier at FlightSim.

A bit of final testing and getting the green light from Daniel Gauthier are still required before I can publish the package.

So stay tuned!

And while I am at it, I have also fixed the few typos in the sound.cfg file (so that we can hear both engines start) and created the missing APU startup and shutdown sounds.
This works fine in FSX, just have to transpose it for P4D and I am done!

Oh that is great! The sound issue in P3D was driving me nuts and I couldn’t figure out how to fix it.

Glad you like (the prospect of) it.
As a last minute addendum, the VHF1 switch now also toggles the avionics on and off, so that the GPS is mouse-click switchable too.

Testing is completed, some sound distortion may be experienced in some rare cases (when reloading the gauge set with engines running), otherwise everything is satisfactory.

So I plan for a release early next week.

FSX and P3D Ka-32 Sounds and Cold&Dark Packages ARE OUT!

Hello!
I have just uploaded at Flightsim two separate packages for FSX/32bit P3D and 64bit PD (P4D) with the following features :
For FSX/ 32bit P3D :

  • Cockpit sounds for the FSX version : sounds are played at clicks on switches, knobs, covers, levers and so on
  • Startup and shutdown sounds for the APU
  • Correction of a few typos and inconsistencies in the sound.cfg, so that both engine startups can be heard from the VC.
  • To bring the helicopter in the cold and dark status (described as “Interior Checks” in the manual), push the pilot’s collective top button (below the cover)
  • The GPS/Avionics is switched on and off through the VHF1 switch in the overhead panel
For 64bit P3D :

  • Startup and shutdown sounds for the APU
  • Correction of a few typos and inconsistencies in the sound.cfg, so that both engine startups can be heard from the VC.
  • To bring the helicopter in the cold and dark status (described as “Interior Checks” in the manual), push the pilot’s collective top button (below the cover)
  • The GPS/Avionics is switched on and off through the VHF1 switch in the overhead panel
I made a mistake while zipping the 64bit P4D package, so please wait for the v1.1 version (which has just been uploaded).

Thanks a lot to ND for allowing me to publish this mod.

I goofed while uploading the v1.1 P4D package, and mislabeled it for FSX.
So the v1.1 file in the library is for 64bit P3D (P4D), as stated in the readme file.
No FSX/32bit P3D compatible package is available right now.
I’ll correct that ASAP.
Sorry again for that.

No problem. I presume at this point that Flightsim.com took down both? I can't find the 1.1 that was already uploaded right now.

Correct : both files are NOT available at the moment.
The reuploads were successfully carried out 2 hours ago, files should be online in a dozen hours (from what I have experienced so far).
