Hello,
Thanks for pointing those out Alain - noticed the absence of the Machmeter and radio last night - good catch on the others.
I don't know if it's just me - but when I'm trimmed for level flight, the a/c seems to have a bit of a nose-down attitude - anyone else get this? Maybe the upated FDE that hschuit mentioned will sort this out ...
Question - is the BLC feature "hardwired open" into the FDE when flaps/elevator flaps are extended? I assume so, since there's no way to activate/deactivate it.
Finally, I took it aboard the Ark Royal a dozen or so times last night. Seemed almost eerily easy to take the wire - held approach speed at around 120 kts (which seemed a bit low), but from a visibility standpoint, was a joy to land. Apart from what I suspect may be a bit too generous of a landing speed, the only carrier issue I noticed was that even at such a slow speed, the nose pitched way down (into the deck). Maybe it will require a bit of tailhook tweaking in the aircraft.cfg - not likely a biggie to fix.
For the purists, this Bucc does not get launched in the real-world nose-off-the-deck attitude, nor is there a switch to auto-retract the gear on take-off, as is present in the Flying Stations' S.1. Nevertheless, at least for me, these two omissions don't take away from a fantastic enjoyment of the model - and a respect to the UKMIL team for their effort on it.
I haven't yet experiemented with the payload options - looks like a fairly wide range of options, in keeping with the long service life of the S.2.
Overall, I'm quite impressed - the few niggles are hopefully easy to address - and the prospect of what's already in the works for enhancement makes this a wonderful keeper for the Bucc enthusiast.
Good job Gaffer and team!
DL
