New C47 from Manfred Jahn

Great!
Thanks a lot, Kumpel! :jump:

A decent RCAF paint of course will follow, but I think Joe McBryan (and some other NWT cargo haulers as well...) has a more desperate need to get this one added to the fleet.

Just mopping up the paint shed...

Wild Bill Kelso, bring it on and thanks for your efforts :jump:

Will your repaints be available on SOH ?

Cheers

Here is Marvin's textures on the default DC-3 VC plus C-47 wings and engines (two). This was easier than expected. Still have to get the landing lights to work, and then will upload.

Great news, Manfred! I've never really been all that interested in the DC-3/C-47, though it is a fine looking aircraft, and as you have done such a marvelous job of capturing it, I think it will become a much more flown aircraft-type on my machine. ;)

Also, many thanks for the awesome variations of repaints, I am really looking forward to them!

Markus, the Buffalo Airways repaint is looking excellent, and it looks like you've got a good handle on the spec maps besides!

I knew it :salute: And then you have time to add the rest of the interior.

Cheers, Rob

@ Huub:
OY-BPB and the BBMF of course are top-candidates for further repaints, but I think I'll better concentrate on "transforming" the versions I've already done for the MAAM Goon.

Thanks for taking it in consideration. I have downloaded the paintkit, so when I can find some time I might start myself.

Cheers,
Huub

this could easily become another aircraft for which I have too many repaints to fly..... ;)

Sure it will, mate!
I usually store my repaints on AVSIM, Flightsim and SOH.

@ John:
Thanks a lot!
I still haven't completely found out on how the specular map, its alpha channel and the main texture's alpha work together, but that's just a matter of try-and-error...

@ Tim:
In respect of "repaint efficiency", I should concentrate on transforming my previous repaints of the MAAM Dakota to this beauty. Having all the needed lettering, stencils and logos on stock makes a painter's live much easier!
Nordair, NWT (and probably Air North) of course are candidates for further releases...

Cheers,
Markus.

I have just uploaded a repaint for Manfred's C-47 and it should be available shortly.

It represents YS (KG374) flown at the time by Flight Lieutenant David Samuel Anthony Lord VC, DFC (18 October 1913 - 19 September 1944) who was an Irish recipient of the Victoria Cross, the highest and most prestigious award for gallantry in the face of the enemy that can be awarded to British and Commonwealth forces. He lost his life while dropping supplies over Arnhem...:medals:
(See the "Read me" for the full story).

Enjoy !

The paints for this aircraft are incredible, and the aircraft itself is also incredible, I can't stop flying this airplane, thank you Manfred.

Thanks to all of you that have contributed to this C47.

I am having a problem choosing which one to fly, but I like e'm all.

The improved VC with Marvin Carter's textures repaint plus new wings and engines is now available at Flightsim

File name c47_interior.zip

http://www.flightsim.com/kdl.php?fid=154171

I must be doing something wrong because after installing this download, I can't see any difference (in particular, I do not see the wings/engines from the VC). Would someone please tell me some distinctive characteristics of the final (modified) a/c folder so that I can check what I did.

Downloaded and installed as per instructions, now have a nice green quilted cockpit but no wing views showing.

Anybody else had any look getting the wing views as shown on the dowload page at Flightsim.

Thanks for the HU , hope an answer will come to light re the wings.
