Description: These files and Tutorial is designed for objects made in gMax at real world scale. All objects in CFS2 are at world scale (or close) although it may not look like it from the cockpit of your plane sometimes.

The Tutorial will guide on exporting your object out of gMax using the FS2004 gamepack and use of Model Converter X. Than use of Make my object.bat to make your object into an exploiting object!

Allen,

These look great, and I'm sure for out model designers, these will be very useful. Outstanding work! :salute:

Most of the work was done by rhumbaflappy and Robert John. I wrote the basic batch file for my self to do the drop and drag work as I was getting confused on what file had to be drop and dragged on to what program and what order it had to be done in.

By the time I had made a basic batch file for my self I had learned quite a bit about batch file working so I expanded the batch file to make user friendly batch files that hopefully others can use to make there own objects.

Allen,
This is great stuff! I've been getting my head round it lately, Rhumbaflappy kindly posted on another forum a how-to, but this will make it easier.

I take it, and hope, you mean an 'exploding object' not 'exploiting object?...

Yes I did. If spelling errors are the only thing I've done I'll be quite happy.

Thank you Allen. I haven't a clue how to use them but thankfully a genius wrote some notes which even I should be able to follow....

It's about time I got off my:jump: and started to learn these arts. Brave words Graham.

Regards again,

Thank u Allen, is a pity that i have not enough time for gMAX but your contribution is valuable .

Allen,
Just wanted to thank you very much for the tools and tutorials, I'm like a kid at christmas! :applause:

I've been 'playing' around all day, tweaking and getting to grips with it, but fun and so useful.

I have been using FSDS with MCX and found that in fact this will work with ac.mdls, scenery.bgls etc, and with MCX 1.4 not just 1.3, so there seems no need to produce just scenery.mdls, which for those with FSDS 2.4 (which compiles better than 3.0 or 3.5), is much easier.

Made a sub and damaged sub bgls, then through your tute and batch files, then made a simple mission, see below....

Now of course it's messing with DPs, MB etc, and my MB is not working properly..grrr, as I'd like to put stuff as GSL static targets for FF and QC etc

Again many thanks for taking the time to put the tutorials together..:ernae:

I'm not suprised it worked with FSDS. I don't have copy of FSDS that I can save files from or I would have made a Tutorial for it as well.

For the FS2002 Make My Object.bat all you need is a FS2002 format _0.asm of the undamaged and damaged verions of the object. I don't know if FSDS can make a FS2002 format _0.asm. Also don't try using _0.asm made with the FS2004 MakeMDL. It dosn't work in CFS2.

FS2004 with MDL Commander and FS2004 with Model Converter X Make My Object.bat all you need is a
Microsoft X File of the undamaged and damaged verions of the object. The FS2002 MakeMDL will convert the undamaged and damaged X Files to FS2002 format _0.asm.

After that all 3 Make My Object.bat programs work the same.

EDIT:
Even in Demo Mode FSDS2 will let me export a Object File (.bgl) that ports into Model Convert X just fine. If thing work fine this way I'll work on a Tutorial set up for FSDS2 as well.

ModelConverterX is probably the easiest way to get an ASM set of files from any object or object library BGL, regardless which tool was used to make it. You can use it to look at the default damageable objects in the CFS2 BGLs.

I agree with that. On a side note MCX dosn't open weapon .bgls made using MDLC.EXE or dosn't for me. I have to convert the bgl to sca than import.
