NEW! Freeware Fieseler Fi-167 By Kazunori Ito

Very interesting aircraft. I've never heard of this one before. A little kick around the internet answered some questions. Some photos show leading edge flaps on the upper wing, and maybe on the lower wing too. Check out this shot:

They may have had flaperons as well, look carefully at this shot:

I think the appendages that Mr. Ito has modeled to the flap command might very well be air brakes/ dive brakes. Hard to say.

Four leading edge flaps and four flaperons the size of elephant's ears, built into a big fat biplane with 1100 horsepower.....certainly would have made a great performer in the STOL game.

Since there's a lot of interest in this airplane, it would probably be a good idea to start another thread that relates strictly to the airfile and cfg enhancements/corrections necessary to get the airplane to fly correctly. Eventually, what mods are correct and current and what mods have been "corrected" and are outdated will get so confusing no one will know whats what.

It doesn't look like any one individual is the sole proprietor for the changes either, so getting all the changes together would help a lot.:salute:

Just found a "complete" fix attempt on Flightsim

http://www.flightsim.com/kdl.php?fid=147012

It seems to address the majority of the issues discussed so far. Let's put it this way: Now I can fly the sucker -- from ramp to the air and back again no flip-flops or crashes -- other than those caused by my minimal piloting skills.:jump:

Romanian, and since they were briefly based in the Netherlands, Dutch (fictional). L'aviation navale?

They design was superceded by the Junkers Ju 87C (probably an equally rare bird), so any scheme that wore could be applicable.

If I recall correctly, the equally quirky Mr Lucariny had a Bf 109T available (he also had an Fi 167); and I'm sure somebody also was working on a Graf Zeppelin carrier - could work up a full set of wartime Kriegsmarine.

I like this new Croatian Repaint - came up with an alternative prop blur texture borrowed from another aircraft.

Does not match up perfectly, but still shows up well in the VC and external view. 3-bladed as well ... Works for me, and attached here if you want it ...

Cheers! Mike :salute:

Hi Smoothie, could I have a copy of the paint kit? I was thinking in some "what if" spanish paints.

Thanks
