New "Store" page for MSFS2024

Ok, Denny, fully understandable, but....

I have lost count of how many times i have read posts of simmers having trouble with MSFS i have never experienced myself. Not so much trouble with the working or performance of MSFS itself but mostly with getting this ongoing truckload of updates and upgrades to properly install. Sometimes even such hairraising stories as to have to re-install MSFS because an update wouldn't properly install, that sort of thing and always by simmers who bought their MSFS thru the MS Store, never thru Steam (atleast to my knowledge).

I still remember it cost me a couple of days and a lot of aggrevation already to even get an MS account 4 years ago ! When i tried the first time i got the rediculous warning that i couldn't use an email address from work or school !! ( Haha ! I'm retired for about a decade for Pete's sake ! ) One of the reasons i went with Steam to buy my copy and never regretted it. Never a problem with updates or upgrades, all done in a jiffy smooth as a baby's bottom.

Ok, just a while ago i did get a problem with Marketplace which proved Steam to be the culprit, not MSFS. I already loved Steam all my life because of these big monsters you can still see hurtling across the landscape on two iron bars if you're lucky but i do love this other type of Steam very much now too and would recommend it to anyone with MSFS24 in mind.

I.e. 4 years of silky smooth MSFS Steam operation besides one minor hickup (my own fault ;-)..
Thanks for the feedback, I was honestly curious. I've never had any of the update issues that others have reported. However, I have always waited until the initial "surge" has subsided before updating (usually the day after is long enough).

If you prepurchased the sim, you can now "preinstall" through the XBox app. It installs the main folder and some other folders, one containing the main icons and splash screen the sim will use, as well as the shortcut on the desktop. It is not named "MSFS2024" but rather "Limitless."

@ Jarvis, I bought through MS. I can’t recall ever having a problem with the MS version. Now I have only a dozen or so addons from the Marketplace. I prefer to buy directly from the developer, if possible.

I do have Steam and run DCS though it for VR. I also have Skyrim, Witcher, and two or three games that I bought but haven’t played.

There is one game that I bought from MS that I wish I had purchased through Steam. That is Starfield. The MS version can’t be modded like the Steam version. I played it through twice and then shelved it. I would have liked to have tried some of the cool mods, but couldn’t.

I see Steam as another layer. The more layers the greater chance for problems.
