Next up....

No you can't. Only the original author who has the model files can "add" them tand then re-export external/internal models.

Yeah, that is kind of a pain. I wanted to do a sparkly/metallic paint for Bill's Epic LT but to no avail because of the way the spec was done.

That's a shame, I was thinking about doing a metallic paint actually.

What happens if the modeller were to assign bump and specular textures in the modelling program but not actually make them? Is it difficulties in the modelling program or texturing side or practicalities that mean they're left out?

I apologise for being naive about modelling, just pondering about some interesting results.

You can do a seperate model that has assignments like that if you wanted to so the 'shimmering' 3D raised 'hair like' metallic effect. For whom is making the model, just create a side model in its own folder that would have that.

Yep. Sorry about that man.

But, remember, there is a basic way of doing Metallics on planes. One is done in Metallic red in the Epic simply by using Noise, (effect in Photoshop). I thought it looked massively realistic. It will not glitter, not doesnt look like hair either. ;)

Thanks for your reply, Bill - I'll also look into metallics with noise, I did this in FS9 on a couple of planes but I guess it will also look better with 2048 size bitmaps, in FS9 it looks a bit like gravel or something.

The Zlin would be extra extra good if a blank spec map was included. Again I'm not a modeller and I will of course be very happy with the plane, but I do like shiny things even more! :wiggle:

Finaly my prayer has been answered. I can barely wait to put a one texture on this beauty. Thank you sir !
