Ocker Nockel, Spindrift, Specie-Aal, Tarahumara, Wilma-X...... Huh ???....What the heck !!??.....

Yes, MSFS24 keeps on amazing me, with each session always something new, often never seen before. Like this one i'm confronted with just now. I am supposed to fly over Schiphol, Amsterdam, EHAM, The Netherlands. I have indeed never seen these odd names in the sky before. No idea what they're about and it looks like they're in different languages as well. (Shinkai might be Japanese, Tarahumara Tahitiän or Hawaiian, Ocker Nockel Austrian or Swiss, Wilma-X.....no idea.., haven't seen Fred-X or Barney-X around yet..)

Yesterday i had this 'Aerodynamic Visualization' turn up all of a sudden out of the blue, now this 'Show Traffic Nameplates' (investigation indicated that that's what they actually supposed to be ).. Both from the General/Flight Interface Menu. Somehow these options get checkmarked at random !??.... What the heck are 'Traffic Nameplates' anyway ???.......

Might this be of SU4 origin ??..... Never seen this 'auto checkmarks' before in MSFS2024. Anybody seeing this odd and irritating behavior as well ?....

Thanks!

Traffic nameplates are meant to show the user names of the other players that are flying in your area.
They existed in MSFS2020 as well.
I guess that just like "Aerodynamic Visualization", this might be automatically activated by some XML file included in the aircraft you have chosen, although it's the first time I hear about this. The nameplates are always active on my sim, so I woudln't notice anyway...

Aaahh, is THAT what it is ! Thanks Daube ! :encouragement:

Must confess i was thinking about traffic on the ground.... :stupid: In my virtual flying career i have used multiplayer only once, with a friend from far away, and i liked it. Seeing idiots dive into the ground in front of me is not my kind of fun so i never activate multiplayer. So i guess it must've been activated without me knowing anything about it ??.. Just like this Aerodynamic Visualization... It's not like devs can now activate FS24 'Flight Interface' (or any other) options with any model they want ??.... That would be a disastrous idea, wouldn't it....

I see that atm my Multiplayer setting is at 'Off (Group Only)'.....I've read that this means that although MP is Off you can still Multiplay with friends in a 'Group'. I guess there's no option to turn MP off all together, right ?.,,,

Thanks!

It's more likely these are names of AI boats. I see them on all watercraft now. Don't know how the names are generated, but they are random names. I first thought they were multiplayer nameplates, but soon saw they are just AI boats. Just turn nameplates off, or boats and AI water traffic off if you don't wish to see them.
