OFF P2 Install

Hey, AXENTI
To meet enemy planes, you should follow the flight path for your mission.
Look into your map. (If you don't know the short key, press "Escape" before the start of a flight; look into "Controls" and adjust the view and other controls as you like).
To be able to follow the path, you should switch on the "radar screen" (Shift+T). By pressing "Strg+Shift+T, you can change the range of it. By pressing only "T", you can change the targets assigned (airplanes, buildings, vehicles etc.). The planes in a distance will be white dots - they get blue (friends) or red (enemies), when they get close enough to recognize.
Although they didn't have radar those days, it will help you to handle the game in the initial steps. Later, you can switch it to "ships", if you don't want to see the enemies there, it's only for the flight route then.

To learn more, you should look into Gimpy's "Tipps & Cheats"-Thread above, in the "stickies".

i barely use a radar not even in the regular game i do it on and off in the begining so if i spot a plain a can lock on i'm to mutch for te realistical nateru to sheat to set my rout i use the map it self i folow the maps rout but dint ancounter anemy crafts yet for now i flew just missions behind friendly lines now there is one comming up behind enemy lines its my fourt but the landing is deficult with the viper i dived 2 times in to the ground not heard i think because i survived the crash and if i go to the settings the realistucall natures are set to dead is dead so im lucky huh

ive been typed the installation out on my words but there could be typing foulds in it so it must be retyped by someone that knows the languige bether then me but the post will be all the info about the install with the folder names and all from top to bothem there is no need for an nother single sticky without the rest of the explanation its just thinking that i'm doing :jump: but fore me i think it saves time to post one big sticky on it

Install Over Flanders Fields Phase2
ON VISTA 32 bit

For all the members to SOH, this is how it must be don without a fuzz to install OFF P2
Like you can see there is mutch info on installing OFF P2 but the info is spread out so I made up in my mind, will it not be good to merge this info in one thread (maybe make it even a sticky) so it will be mutch easyer for other members to install OFF P2 without to mutch fuzz and irritation for them that comes after me.

So the info that is given you here is not from my selve this is info from all the members on SOH that already installed the game and share there knolidge with us so thanks to them I was able to install OFF P2 by all means I’m very greatfull so this is my thanks.

First off all I have an operating system that is fore some members to slow but I made it to work smooth and easy without to mutch FPS (Like latenancy if you go online “stottering”)
My system is a LENOVO (IBM) lappy
Intel (R) Dual CPU @ 1.60 GHZ Memory is 1 giga RAM
32bit operating system Windows VISTA HOME PREMIUM
My Video card is on board when asked for I will give you the details for it but it is not so heavy.
So if you have a faster system it will work for sjure!

On the install it is very inportent that you have a clean CFS3 vanilla install
(to newbees like myself it means an untoutched original install no krack from torrentz or what so ever)
Normally (if you already installed PTO or ETO expantion that you can find on CFS3 general discutions) it will not be any problem, it is very inportent that you take it in account if you have installed CFS3 Firepower that you need to begin from scratch 1 all over.
(Because the install for Firepower wil change your original CFS3 install)


The next info that you wil read is typed in that way like you you need to begin from scratch 1
It is always a good advice that you always install on the default pad.
C:\Program Files\Microsoft Games
so this info will referring to that default pad if you installing or installed your games on a different pad you have to calculate it in for your selves.
For example you already have installed CFS3 and other add ons like PTO and ETO you have alsow already installed OFF P2! But the following problems are on your install

(You can play missions and quick combat but cant play campains you have a flickering screen the game says that the mission cant load because of missing files the game says that the mission wont load because there is no latitude)
Take it from me this works! and only on this based install it will work.

You can do this on to ways
1: Only delete the install for OFF P2 and CFS3 original game
IF YOU USE OPTION ONE YOU DON’T HAVE TO TAKE IN ACOUNT MY ADVICE ON THE ADD ONS YOU ONLY DO THE FOLOWING STEPS WITH OFF P2 AND THE ORIGINAL GAME FOLDERS
OR
2: DELETE ALL THE ADD ONS

My advice is to delete everything and start all over if the problem is like it is typed above you have a conflict and you will not find the conflict believe me.

That said this is what you should do:
First you UN install all the add ons by all means do not yet un install CFS3 original game WAIT!
1: First you do this Remove all existing CFS3 add ons copy past this next line klick on Computer and paste it in the adres line and enter:
C:\Program Files\Microsoft Games
DON’T toutch the original yet, DELETE ALL THE OTHER FILES THAT ARE INVOLVED WITH CFS3 right klicking on the folder press shift when you do this and keep pressing it and klick delete when you do this it wont pas on the recycle bin
2: The next fase is to copy the next line klick on Computer and paste it in the adres line and enter:
C:\Documents and Settings\'YOUR WINDOWS USER NAME'\Application Data\Microsoft\
Again DON’T toutch the original yet, DELETE ALL THE OTHER FILES THAT ARE INVOLVED WITH CFS3 right klicking on the folder press shift when you do this and keep pressing it and klick delete when you do this it wont pas on the recycle bin
3: The next fase is again copy the next line:
C:\Users\'YOUR WINDOWS USER NAME'\Documents
So like it is an never ending story DON’T toutch the original yet, DELETE ALL THE OTHER FILES THAT ARE INVOLVED WITH CFS3 right klicking on the folder press shift when you do this and keep pressing it and klick delete when you do this it wont pas on the recycle bin
If you did all this normaly everthing is gone on the add ons part
now you do this
4: The next fase is copy past again the line:
Control Panel\Programs and Features
Left klick one time on the CFS3 install and Uninstall it let the uninstaller do its work
When it is finisched you copy past the next lines and deleting this folders entirely
1: C:\Program Files\Microsoft Games\Combat Flight Simulator 3
2: C:\Documents and Settings\'YOUR WINDOWS USER NAME'\Application Data\Microsoft\Combat Flight Simulator 3
3: C:\Users\'YOUR WINDOWS USER NAME'\Documents\Combat Flight Simulator 3.0

5: RUN A DEFRAG AND RESTART YOUR SYSTEM
6: GO TO CONTOL PANNEL AND KLIK ON Region and Language options set these to Englische USA
RESTART YOUR SYSTEM

On the install it is easy

1: INSTALL THE ORIGINAL GAME
2: UPDATE WITH THE NEXT LINK

First you instal patch V3.1
Then V3.1a
You need that!
After that you defrag your system again and restart
3: Play CFS3 yes you do if you don’t the install on OFF P2 will not succeed.
If you play I advice that you make asjure you been hit kill an enemy plauter in to the ground land it makes no deference just play for a while and close up
4: INSTALL OFF P2
In the following orther these installers are on your CD that is provided you.
Every installer you run you run it by right klicking and run as an administrator if you don’t your system can say that the program isn’t working ok and maybe needed to be installing again, every conflict you have on the install is a bad one

1. OverFlandersFieldsPhase2ReleaseV1.0
2. OverFlandersFieldsPhase2SkinsV1.0
3. OverFlandersFieldsPhase2VidsV1.0
4. OverFlandersFieldsPhase2UpdateV1.9
5. OverFlandersFieldsPhase2V1.9eFinalHotfix


Last phase

When the install is complete you are about very close to the end line but you need to do firs again a defrag if you did that you right klick on the desktop icon for OFF P2 go to properties and click on run as an administrator and run it on XP sevice pack 2 this is alsow very inportent to make the game work.
When you did do this you run first the application when it starts it will say now Over Flanders Fields will self initialize don’t interrupt this face when it is complete don’t play just yet klick on leave go to the next line
C:\Program Files\Microsoft Games\CFSWW1 Over Flanders Fields
Right klick on CFS3Config and send it to your desktop and run the configuration when it is don you may delete the config application on your desktop
NOW YOU MAY RUN YOUR GAME OFF P2 How to play you just make a pilot and off you go​

It's NOT Radar, but the screen is round. So it's referred to as Radar

But if you prefer to BUMP into the coffee table be my guest

As too not encountering any enemy AC, without Labels, or TAC

They're there, but your not, by that I mean with the onboard video, you won't see them in the distance. Particularly if you are a little off course, they're not

With the vastly inferiour system, you'll need every cheat in the book

OR you can keep on banging your head on the wall :banghead::bs:

on the missions they are there on the campain not???? i just encountered a bunsh of them on my latest mission and it worked out you are to ficked on the fact that my system possible is to slow or wat ever, just admit that it works fine for me :p. i'm gonna make a fraps movie and then you can see (im not of course im trying te game out every step of the way but you can see it for your self im not going to arguw or gonna make a reply on something thats working on my rig (if you are replying ont that fact) when you think its not be able to, maybe your right but on my system IT RUNS :amen: and there fore it will run on systems that are higher then my system if you are advising me to use the radar stuf im trying to play it without any goodies its my dessision ;-) and if you say my system dont makes it to pickture whole the game i'm again gonna say you are wrong :p if i shoot an anemy and they shooting me i think that im pretty mutch there lol
 
Without labels or the visual awareness aid (called "radar" here) you will OFTEN fly right past enemy flights. It's fact you cannot look zoomed in at all areas of the sky. Also it will vary sometimes many craft sometimes few passing you.

Phase 2 concentrates flights near the mission area - wander many miles away and you may find nothing.

Phase 3 is totally different but even with new real flights from real airfields going about their missions you will miss them if you use your eyes just as in real life. PLus small screen, low quality resolution etc makes it worse.

Look harder more often.

As a test fly with "Radar" on and see what you see....

i will do that but djeeeses the flying is different then on the main game mutsh more accurate and hmmmm nice it is difficult lol and yeah i think i need the damn radar but its feeling like sheeting anyways my realisticall settings are ok they just take me down after i shot down an enemy craft with an anti aricraft bairy setting my plain on the ground it exploded in need lot of learning on this game, im used to fly ont the main game hu maybe thats a handicap i try to get my plain in commition like CFS3 but it is slower so it is not flying like i'm used to but i'm digging it :p i tink im to realistical on the game it is realistic enuf so like it is maybe a need some tags on this one so i can see the enemy, the graphics are ok but if i look at it if i spot the enemy i need to look very carful if it is not friendly and i dont know the plains all that well to make a diference on the struckture of it. hmmm maybe the game runs ok but it think gimpyguy haas a point that been on a slower rig it is an disavantage to me to spot the enemy fickated on my slower rig but right on the spot :p i will take it in for a count next rime i fly out i hope it feels right do im not used to fly with the tags on and all
 
My suggestion is as a test to make sure that you DO have enemies near sometimes ;)
Once you confirm you are seeing lots, you can go back to flying with it turned off it is more realistic.

You don't need to fly with "radar" on always, maybe set the range to 1 mile or 2 miles as some people do , and turn it on and off from time to time. This may reflect what you would see more accurately.
It is a substitute for "visual awareness" that is what that dial is. It is not a ""radar" but we call it that.

Or try "warp" and it will stop you when enemies are near, but with labels and radar off you will have to look closely to find them. Without warp you will often fly right by them.

In WW1 also you did not know if the spotted aircraft was enemy or friendly - even Flak could get it wrong - you would have to risk flying closer to identify (and then find it's 10x Jasta 11 after you ;))
