• There seems to be an uptick in Political comments in recent months. Those of us who are long time members of the site know that Political and Religious content has been banned for years. Nothing has changed. Please leave all political and religious comments out of the forums.

ORBX Tipella Is Out!

With lite trees and grass only selected, Tipella is only running at 20 FPS on my computer. I generally run ORBX scenery smoothly and very well, locked at 30.

I have the same problem. I have PNW and I am set to North America. There is a lot of discussion going on over at ORBX about how to fix this. Most of the solutions I don't understand.
Hopefully they will get it fixed and re-issue it.
 
Just a question, I have been trying to register with Orbx for several days now to log on to there forums and ask for help. I have not gotten any response to my request. I know this is off the topic, but I have all there scenery for the PNW and was having some trouble with the control panel. Anyway sorry for the off topic question.

Do you wait for an e-mail? If yes the post that Jay Kae (the board administrator) posted yesterday might be the reason:
"Working on a new email system for the boards, the mail server will be down until further notice."
 
I had no issues, but I made sure I had NA PNW.005 patch installed along with the latest current Orbx Library files 130626 installed. I tend to forget to check on updates at times.

I tried to join their forums yesterday. My experience went thus. Signed up, message reads an e-mail will be sent in 10 mins but usually instantly. E-mail never arrived, but mysteriously I was allowed in on the forum. I did not have to sign in at all. May be a quirk with them updating their systems, but try and go there again post signing up and you may well get in anyway.

this is my dilemma also - only this scenery and the Vashon 2S1 addon tear my FPS down to where I just cant use the scenery...

CEN4 CEJ4 KHQM the whole PNW and NA Northern Rockies run fine - even the Portland enhancement is not a problem on my modest rig.

oh well - the world keeps turning and my Independence Day dinner was good, so :kilroy:
 
Thought I would take my favorite chopper for flight at CBB7! Scenery set to extreme and maxed CBB7 settings. Taxing for sure! Fraps didn't help either.

its a butterfly sim...but I think the Monarchs flight model is naff...






lots of activity..guy working on his engine...dude walking the dog...another guy putting gas in the truck

tough to get in and out of these little clearings but worth it...I could eat lunch here and just take in the surroundings

Also, saw a squirrel crawling around there too!
 
A great piece of scenery for a very picturesque area. I really love the dense and detailed trees and grasses - as others have noted, it does bring my framerates down, but I'm okay with living with that (much better, performance wise too, without water reflections on, which probably do something to double the impact of all of those trees and grasses that are around the water).







 
It's even more compelling driving thru the town in a Willys! Video within the hour, squirrel included! ;)
