OK, all you die hard Internet Explorer fans (I'm one too), for Windows 7, which is the better update, ie9, 10 or 11? Im currently on ie8 but since Ive migrated to Win 7 didn't know which to go with.

As before, your advice, recommendations are much appreciated.

I'm running 11, use it for most of my internet usage, best IE in a while I think; having said that, I also have Chrome, largely for a Wordpress site I'm admin on (for some reason IE won't let me upload images to it), but also for some foreign FS sites (the auto translate feature is a real plus).
 
Depends on what you are looking for.

HTML5 support, definintely IE11, security, IE9.

But the best and most secure browser is and remains FireFox!

If you're looking for anonimity: Tor! The Tor browser largely makes use of FireFox, but connects you through a system of connection relay. Whereby it will seem as if your IP is from any given country but your own.
 
I never used IE10, I had IE9 on my WinXP machine, thought it did a pretty good job for the tasks I used it for. IE11 on both my 'puters now.

Firefox is OK, I tried it for a bit and it seemed fine, but still rely on IE. Never liked Google Chrome.

Steve - I am currently running IE v11.0.2. I have my browser set for automatic IE updates. When the browser does update this way, whatever changes do occur are minor and, so far, I've not received any big surprises. I have tried both Firefox and Chrome and I was not impressed, to say the least, with either of them.

They all have their benefits. IE10 is the first version to have a native spell checker, and even auto-corrects. Although I'm posting this from Firefox, I actually like Chrome for posting and webmail because it gives me the option to paste unformatted text so I don't end up with a mishmash of fonts and sizes that I have to go back and reformat.

The biggest issue that causes some things to work on one browser and not another is the raging feud between MS and Google. Google owns a controlling interest in Linux, so MS hates Google and Google hates MS. So what does that cause? Well, the last time I tried to access my Google+ account in IE, it was completely non-functional, and when I try to use Google Maps in IE, there are certain elements there that don't work either. And it wasn't very long ago that Bing denied access to non-Windows operating systems. (But oddly enough, Linux commands actually work in the CLI on Surface tablets.) On the plus side, the browser war has quieted recently, but I don't see a full cease-fire any time soon.

As I said, main reason I have it is for posting on a couple of Wordpress sites which don't play well with IE for some reason; the auto translate feature is useful though.

Used to be a fan of Firefox, but I've found it's recent iterations a bit clunky.

I have my own reasons for not wanting to use Google... for anything. I wasn't trying to step on anyone's toes if they choose to use Google for whatever reasons....

Yes, unless you have a dual boot system or virtual machines running...

But, as an IT professional, I don't run IE at my home rigs at all. I have to use them at work and that is more than enough. For obvious reasons I don't use chrome either. You can just as well FTP all your data to the NSA...

Fact is, Mickey$oft releases new browser versions quicker than you can say "ouch" because of the browser war going on between the different suppliers. As a result, the IE versions released are neither mature nor safe...

IE has always been the most unsafe browser ever released. But the latest versions 10/11 are just ridiculously unsafe...
